Hacking Upgrade RGH Xbox 360 Slim HDD to 1TB

Hi Guys,

I read through many threads across the forum however could not get clarity on the subject,

What I have
1. Xbox 360 Slim with 250GB HDD it boot into Aurora after initial splash-screen.(bought locally as seconds)
2. I have purchased a 1tb segate slim backup drive 3.0 interface.(will extract the drive from the shell and put it into xbox360 as external)
Bought it since the spare drive can go into the empty shell and can be used for other purposes although the capacity is negligible.

Now i have a few games on the current internal HDD which i want to transfer before I upgrade.(also save games ninja gaiden black )
As i understand (from some reading) the hack currently resides inside the xbox therefore i can do a swap of HDDs.(please correct me if i am wrong)
Can you please guide me if my understanding of the hack is correct and also is there some easy way of transferring content from the current internal(250GB) to the new drive 1TB).

Copy all the folders from the drive with FTP, put in a new drive and prepare it by following the tutorial on how to install FSD.
The only things you really need to do is inject a new hacked emulator and connect to FTP again once you're in Xexmenu.
Copy all the folders back to their respective locations and you can pick up where you left off.

Hey Dino,

Many thanks for the response. I was wondering wouldnt this be slow as i would have to FTP over wifi.
Is it possible to use USB in my case as the drive already comes in a USB 3.0 shell.
Also could you please point me in a direction as to how to inject the emulator files.

Connect your laptop/desktop and 360 to ethernet.
It speeds up things a whole lot.

Copying by USB is a possibility but I wouldn't do it.

Follow this tut to prepare the new harddrive.
Just follow the part to inject the hacked emu.

I come back with another issue . I tried burning the XEX Live CD, but the xbox will not read it.
Bought some new media as well.
I there any way to execute the iso image from a USB?
Otherwise need to get a new laser i guess.

If you guys have any other solution to upgrade the HDD apart from XeX live CD do let me know.

You can extract the ISO to a flash drive yes.

I manged to backup my drive also was able to put the new drive into the xbox.
I copied all the folders including system folder.
But when i overwrote the folders including system folder the system ran ok.
but after reboot it boots into E79.
I still have the files i am sure that overwriting the system folder with the backup files caused this.
Is there a way out.

I do not have a hardware flasher or even the ability to flash also i do not have a nand backup as the xbox was pre owned and already RGH.

I tried and still am anle to boot into XELL sorry for multiple posts.

Format the harddrive and try again.
If it still boots up with that error, proceed to follow this tut and only copy the folders containing games and saves back to the drive.

You can substitute FSD for Aurora if needed, install procedure is basically the same.

I cant boot into Xbox dashboard anymore even after removing the hard drive. tried with the old hdd as well.
I overwrote the system folder as well that i had backed up before changing the hard dirve.
do you think that the Nand is screwed?
i do not have a nand dump as wee

E79 means your FS or HDD is corrupt.
Have you tried booting it without the HDD? if yes then you'll need to build a new NAND with your CPU key.
You can likely find a banned keyvault floating around on the internet if needed and change the DVD keys to match your own DVD keys.

You can use RAWflash v4 to flash a NAND directly from XeLL.

keyvault will be used to build a new nand?
are there any specific tutorials that you think might help me.
getting a little desperate could you give me some hints.

I booted into xell but it does not give all the info that the tutorials over the internet have.
How do i get that informatuion.
is it due to the version of sell installed on my xbox it says corona special ediion

i think xell hangs at sata hdd init. because rest of the information below is not displayed.

This tut should basically cover it.

Edit: remove all storage media and other connected accesories from the console and then boot XeLL.
That should do the job.

I was finally able to get the xbox back on using a donor nand and create a fresh dump using my cpu and dvd key
