Hey guys,
I found a good way to distinguish between the long lasting controversy if the screen of your n3DS (XL) is an IPS or a TN one.
Its fairly bulletproof and easy to use, proceed as the following:
After you observed your Result, it would be fairly interesting what results you got - please take place in the Poll above!
Please Note: Due to the introduction of the IPS Panel-type in the n3DS(XL) Models, this tutorial is only applicable to those!
All the best,

I found a good way to distinguish between the long lasting controversy if the screen of your n3DS (XL) is an IPS or a TN one.
Its fairly bulletproof and easy to use, proceed as the following:
- Go in a pitch black room.
- Switch the 3D off
- Turn off auto brightness and power saving
- Set your brightness to 5
- Go on this website on your 3DS: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php
- Look at how many squares you can see on your 3DS' top screen. For example, if the first 7 squares look completely black but you can see the 8th square, the 9th square, and so on, I would record my data as: "8th square and up."
- Now use the analog stick to scroll the page down so that the same squares show on the touch screen. Like above, record which square you can first see, and up. EX: "4th square and up."
After you observed your Result, it would be fairly interesting what results you got - please take place in the Poll above!
Please Note: Due to the introduction of the IPS Panel-type in the n3DS(XL) Models, this tutorial is only applicable to those!
All the best,
