Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love - English Fan Translation Released

12 years ago, on the Nintendo DS, a strange game featuring everybody's favourite fairy released:

I remember playing Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland at the time of it's launch and found it to be a pretty fun game with unique features, such as the possibilty of going bankrupt!

Skip ahead to 2009, and Tingle got a second release, also on the DS.
Titled; Irozuki Tincle no Koi no Balloon Trip, Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love:

The game never saw a Western release, and as such I never got to play it.

Roll on 2018 and fans of Irozuki Tincle no Koi no Balloon Trip have released their last 5 years of hard work as Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love v1.0 English translation patch:

Well, I was planning on writing a long post thanking everyone and reminiscing about the last 5 years that I worked on this project. Long story short: bad stuff happened during testing, and I've been busy fixing it over the last few days.
You guys probably just want to get to the good part anyways, right?
So without further ado, we're proud to announce the first release of the Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love English translation patch!

This is the best news I've heard in a while. Rosy Rupeeland was such a fantastic game, but I was so worried this wouldn't ever come out! I can't wait to play this tonight!

Erm...is it possible this part should've contained a whole lot more introduction to Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland? I mean...going bankrupt isn't exactly an unique feature in games (especially tycoon-ish simulators), and unless I'm missing something, it's not the most fun thing to do in a game. :P

Possibly, but this isn't about that game, I just wanted to feature it somehow because it's a great game. You have to make rupees and throw them into a well to grow a huge tower, but you can gamble and stuff or just straight up fail and go bankrupt making the tower shrink. It's very quirky and imo one of the best, overlooked DS games.

I remember the first one quite well - mainly because I didn't understand the game mechanics lol. Fighting was random I think :P Might as well check the new one out.

Thanks for the translation patch!

Hi, I'm trying to download this, but it can't be played on my DS through R4 as the file is not an NDS-file, but rather an XDELTA-file. Is there any way to download this as an NDS-file?

XDELTA-file is Patch file. you have to apply it to original NDS file to modify it.
So, you have to have: NDS file Irozuki Tincle no Koi no Balloon Trip.
this Xdelta file.
Patcher tool (or use online Patcher - e.g. on Romhacking? I didn't try it on NDS files...).

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
