Announced today, the popular fighting franchise is coming to an iOS and/or Android device near you!

Not much is known about the game at this point except that it is coming soonTM and an announcement trailer that doesn't really show the controls but mentions that a soft launch is available in Canada for now. Here's hoping it's not a card game...

Screenshots from the website show that it will include Tekken 7's Rage mechanic, customizable fighters, team building and online modes (that seem to point to a card-based control ).

I'll play this because I'm a big Tekken fan. Might drop it, but I'll check it. It's probably better playing Tekken 6 on PPSSPP or Tekken 3 on ePSXe.

Both types of controls have their place on Android. Id rather every game give the option. Especially if you juggle between home and remote play on one or multiple Android devices. For example, I like that when I have my tablet docked to my TV, I can sit back and play Asphalt 8 with a controller but when I'm out on the go I can just as easily play that same game with gyro and touch controls without having to lug a controller along with me.

It's probably going to be a touch screen button masher so not really expecting much of it. It looks cool but that's about it.

The game is out in Canada. It's a 2.5D (3D graphics on a 2D plane) fighter where you collect different fighters through unlocking them (probably micro transactions too) like most big franchise mobile games and make a team of 3 fighters and chose one to take into battle.

The game has a rock paper scissors system where the fighters have different elements and gain and advantage or weakness against others depending on their element.

For controls you swipe on the left side to move, hold to block, tap right side to attack, hold right side to do a guard break, and have little cards on the bottom right side of the screen to do special attacks. So don't expect controller support unless you root your device and have a key mapper.
