Team-Xecuter Releases SX OS v1.4

TX Releases Another Update To Their SX OS, with lots of nice improvements in v1.4

We have not heard from TX for a while, but don't worry, they back with nice new update to their SX OS, check out v1.4 below:

SX OS v1.4 Announcement
Good day, loyal users!

While we chip away at many different features for SX OS and additions to our SX hardware family we took a break to prepare an update for SX OS with some exciting new functionality and outstanding bug fixes.

Let's have a look at what's new and fixed in this release:
  • Integrated NSP installer
With our last update we introduced the possibility of installing eShop NSP titles. However, this relied on using external tools and wasn't very user friendly. In this release we bring our own integrated NSP installer as part of our menu system. This is the neatest and easiest way of installing NSP titles, enjoy!
  • Integrated homebrew launcher
Launching homebrew used to be done by launching NX HBMenu by holding R when entering the album. While we kept this possibility (mostly for developers), you can now also launch your favorite homebrew directly from our own menu!
  • IR / motion plus issue fixed
A few games (like 1-2-Switch and Resident Evil) were suffering from freezes when enabling the joycon IR camera or motion controls.
  • Allow unsigned NCA
People asked us if we could get rid of the NCA integrity checks, so we did! Custom NCA files, modified NCA files and repackaged NCA files should all work fine now.
  • Display SX OS version in menu
To better distinguish the different versions of SX OS we introduced a small version number display in our menu.
  • LayeredFS fixes for 4.1.0
There were certain issues with 'LayeredFS' for people on firmware 4.1.0. If you use 'LayeredFS' on that specific firmware there's good news for you: these issues have been identified and fixed!
And that's that for this release. We have quite the backlog of feature requests and todo's on our plate, but trust we'll get there!

So, If I have a game in xci, would it be possible to install the DLCs even though they are in .nsp format or would I need to reinstall the game in .nsp as well?

The worst part is we still have no automatic way to delete the nsp after being installed so then you have double the space taken up until you stuff the sd card into the pc and manually remove it all.

I'm really surprised we don't have the "delete after install" option or at least a basic file manager for the sd card.
The games will appears in system settings and can be deleted.
Also you can delete them using devmenu.

If you mean delete the files, use nxshell.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

How do you uninstall the NSP DLC after you install it?

asking the same thing
also if possible, is there a way to uninstall only the updates. I'm not sure if there's any game that needs FW 4.x but have updates that require 5.x
I don't want to end up have to delete the game only to uninstall the updates

Use devmenu.

So I went ahead and updated to the latest 5.x firmware. (forgot if .1 or .2, whatev) Prior to that I had no .nsp files installed and legit eshop/retail titles installed to the SD card. I did also have 1-2 .xci titles on my sd card, one of them being Bayonetta 1. I have not been online since putting on the .xci files back on 4.1 fw.
Now that I updated to 5.x and connected online, I guess it "thinks" I have a Bayonetta 2 eshop purchase pending and the icon for Bayonetta 2 is on the Switch home screen with a download progress indicator that has a little flashing X in the middle of the progress bar.

Is this "normal" because the .xci imitates a cartridge and the cart version of Bayonetta 2 contains/allows a download of Bayonetta 2?? Obviously I don't want to connect online and try downloading Bayonetta 2, only to instigate a console of CDN ban. It doesn't seem to let me delete the icon either. Can I just install the .nsp of Bayonetta 2 if need be, to get the icon to go away or is there something else I should do? Thanks!

That is probably an update for the game.

All that is missing now it’s a easier way to put NSP into the card without rebooting. Memloader still requires a reboot and limited to 5MB/s and FTP is slow as hell even on 5GHz

No, it's not an update because I don't have Bayonetta 2 installed on my Switch. Somehow, having Bayonetta 1 installed as an .xci/cart based game, has prompted a download of Bayonetta 2. (Bayo1 retail box states it comes with digital version of Bayo2)

its probably a bad dump, dev menu install even if the nsp is not working as it should or it has some corruption as some users have seen, I am going to try that nsp to see if its your dump or what :P

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
