Since you were still on 9.2 you probably never knew that sxos support is dead now. Team Xecuter got into legal trouble with Nintendo, so if you want new game support without downgrading games then go Atomsphere there are tons of threads on how to make the change from sxos.

Yes, it's pretty easy to switch to Atmosphere. The major advantage is, obviously, that you can run the latest games and updates, instead of being stuck on an old firmware. SXOS has the advantage of being able to mount and run XCI files. It's up to you what you need the most. Some people dual run both, but is it worth it? I don't know. (not for me)

Just to add on to the Atmosphere change. The sxos dongle is still very useful, make sure to have the latest hekate payload on the root of the SD card. When you do the RCM with a jig as usual (Power/ + Vol) it will boot right into Hekate
