So now that I'm back from my self-imposed exile, I've got a few questions regarding Switch modding;
1. The consensus seems to be the ReiNX is the best free CFW, while SX OS is the best all-around. I'm aware there's obviously a ban risk for modding your Switch AT ALL these days with either solution, but realistically speaking, what are the odds of a ban as long as you use the Switch normally without being stupid? (i.e. going online in legitimately owned games, using homebrew etc offline?)
2. Are there any REAL downsides to using ReiNX vs SX OS? I'm not really intending on pirating anything, I'm more interested in mods and homebrew.
3. I'd like to update my Switch to latest firmware, but I'm sitting at FW 4.1.0. I've read up on ChoiDuJourNX, as well as AutoRCM, and more or less understand the functions of both. Are there any downsides to going the AutoRCM approach, considering how much easier it is?
4. Haven't downloaded the exFAT update, although an answer to the above question would realistically solve that rather quickly. In the meantime, though, FAT32 is a plenty good format, correct?
Realistically I'll probably think of more. I've suddenly got a lot of time on my hands and would rather do this right the first time.
