I had similar issue, fixed it by placing .nsp in tinfoil/nsp
Whoops. Meant to say you would have to use a different CFW but since you're running the game off of the HDD, I don't think LayeredFS supports that so you will need to load the game either from SD card or NAND
As long as the first thing you do is backup the NAND, you will be able to recover from 99% of all bricks as well as have a clean hack-free NAND if you ever decide to bring the console online. Make sure you backup both boot0/boot1 and the eMMC raw GPP. If you don't mind ditching your saved content and data, you can back up eMMC SYS instead of the raw GPP as SYS is much smaller due to USER taking up most of the space of the raw GPP. After that, if you are planning on using SX OS, you can only update as high as firmware 6.1. If the console is already on 6.2 or if you find yourself on that firmware by accident, you will have to use another CFW such as ReiNX or Atmosphere.alright i have a switch fully working in 6.1 with my sx pro dongle etc.
i JUST bought a BRAND NEW sealed switch new in box that has a serial of XAW10050 something. so its good to go, "never been online" therefore what fw do you think it will come with.
I plan to not put this thing online WHAT so ever. my goal is to first make a "nandbackup" of it FRESH or the soonest this can be done ideally like people have mentioned since Ive never been able to do that with this one yyet or even tried and then I suppose update it to 6.1 using some method other than the OFW update method. because that will as ive read " burn fuses" making it harder to downgrade or not possible even later.
I think ive got the jist of this down if someone can point me or chime in and correct help me where im wrong etc much appreciated. i thought Buying new in the situation of 6.2 lingo right now was the only safe way without wasitng a ton of time discussing witht he seller the last time it was online if updated etc etc. nice new - no problems easy to go
by the way the seller has one left if anyone cares but its like retail price of $299 us plus tax maybe a little less than tax where you are but about the same.
You can't maintain a clean NAND and your save data from a tainted NAND because the save data is tainted. Is there a way to transfer save data??
Right now i am running ReiNX 6.1 and my OFW is also 6.1
I want to update to 6.2 ReiNX and OFW 6.2 by restoring my clean NAND and update via the nintendo switch menu.
However if i restore my clean NAND my savedata will be gone of course.
So is there anyway i can transfer my savedata so i can use it on ReiNX 6.2??
A system or game update? Because if its a system update, he will have to update his firmware. Since SX OS supports up to firmware 6.1, he can update to that using ChoiDujourNX preferably.Hi,
Writing for a friend.....
He has FW 5.1, latest SXOS beta.
He has just tried downloading and installing Hollow Knight and Moonlighter plus updates for both, via the SX OS installer.
Both games are still asking for an update (either Update or Cancel, they are his only options).
I have not had this problem with my Switch. I haven't tried Moonlighter but Hollow Knight I've beaten with only the first released update installed. I didn't bother with the rest.
Any ideas on how to install these games? What is suddenly causing the update prompt? Will Tinfoil install fix this issue?
Thanks in advance.
You won't be able to downgrade without RCM and if you do happen to downgrade then bypass the fuse check, you won't be able to put the console into sleep mode. What will happen if I update my switch to 6.2.0 and burn efuses. Will this only prevents me from downgrading or are these other inconveniences?
I don't have any experience with split .NSP files but have you considered USB installation? I used a build of Tinfoil that supported USB installation as well as Aluminum Foil on my PC to do it.Hey guys, I used "splitNSP" to split parts of SSBU for Switch into parts and I then put the container into my Tinfoil/NSP folder and it didn't find the folder on my MicroSD Card
Here's what it looks like - https://imgur.com/vGD9cYc
Have I done something wrong?
You can backup the NAND with an exFAT formatted SD card using Hekate. And because Hekate is loaded outside of Horizon, exFAT support on the console is irrelevant. Speaking of exFAT, FAT32 is now objectively better than exFAT due to there being numerous workarounds for the 4 GB limit of FAT32 (some of the workarounds are faster than just using exFAT) as well as the fact that FAT32 has no chance to corrupt your SD card unlike exFAT.Hello there.
I got a few questions, probably all of them was already answered, bud many things seems to change on the fly.
Ive got my Switch on 6.0.1, no CFW or anything so far.
Probably Im going on FW without exFAT support. Soon I will get new, bigger SD card.
It is better to put the bigger sdxc card and do classic "online" update to get exFAT support and get 6.2 FW and than do start all the things and make NAND backup?
Or better is make NAND to this 6.0.1 (possibly no exFAT support) firmware and do all the updates "offline"?
exFAT support without update seems bit tricky and i would like to make NAND backup as clean as possible.
Or some other way is the best way?
Also, next thing - Ive found it three nice guides and there is literally three major disparities:
- format your sdcard exFAT
- format your sdcard FAT32
- format your sdcard exFAT/FAT32
I will go all the way with Amotsphere OS and I want use .nsp/.xci as easy as possible = exFAT is better for me?
I dont want to spliting 15gb.nsp to 4 files etc.
What its the best way to install .xci on Atmosphere OS?
Convert .xci to .nsp on the PC and then install?
Or install .xci files just from the Nintendo? Tinfoil? ZeroTwoXCI? Dopus? Something else?
Last but not at least Im curious about emulating.
Lakka.tv seems to be really amazing but Ive read about dead pixel issues and exFAT issues (lakka really needs FAT32?).
Is that still actual?
Can I find emulators without these big Issues? (especially without HW defects)
Thanks for any help for noobie!
https://gbatemp.net/threads/a-defin...atched-or-not-purchases-after-07-2018.512018/Still haven't had the question answered so just asking again in case it's been overlooked.
My friend has a switch that is in the "might" be hackable range of serial numbers.
Serials beginning with XAJ4:
XAJ4004700X and above not safe to buy, possibly patched
(link to thread here > https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-...he-first-post-before-asking-questions.481215/ )
Does anyone know how to find out if this Switch is actually hackable or not?
The serial number of the switch is XAJ40054727713

I'm not sure if Atmosphere fully supports .XCI files because tools like ZeroTwoXCI are only meant to work on ReiNX because it has an additional patch not provided in Atmosphere. But you can use either ZeroTwoXCI, dOPUS, or n1dus to install .XCI files of your choice or convert them to .NSP format with programs such as 4NXCI or xci2nsp then install them with a title manager such as Tinfoil/Goldleaf.
Due to reasons stated above, Lakka will only work on FAT32 and FAT32 is objectively better than exFAT. Even with emulators, its highly recommended to use FAT32 to avoid corrupting the SD card. The only reason for exFAT is to restore the NAND since restoring a split NAND is a bad idea.

https://gbatemp.net/threads/tegrarcmsmash-a-fusee-launcher-for-windows.502334/Hey guys. How can I inject the payload using WINDOWS XP (x86)?
If you backup the NAND with a FAT32 formatted SD card, the eMMC raw GPP will be split into multiple parts because its around 29 GB in size. Thanks for an fast answer!
Understand with FAT32, FAT32 its the right way.
Can I make NAND backup to FAT32 formated SDCard and then copy it to my HDD? No files will be splitted or something?
May I ask for some of workarounds for 4GB limit @ FAT32? Spliting etc.
Aah, thanks for the info about ReiNX.
So what is better nowadays? Atmosphere or ReiNX? Firmware 6.2.
All of the rest probably were answered, just how about lakka.tv issue with reported dead pixels?
Is that true?
Thanks!
You said yourself you never touched Moonlighter so its highly possible that that game requires a higher system firmware to play the game, especially since you are able to run Hollow Knight on 5.1Hi,
I'm not sure if it's a game update or system update....
But why would these games be asking for a system update? I played Hollow Knight on my 5.1 Switch with no issues. It never asked for any kind of update......
Hi! I got a two part question
I have a 6.1 switch that got banned from Spla2n (2124-4027). I have unlinked t
1) Is there any way to get the console unbanned except for divine intervention? If so, how?
2) If not, is there any way to move all of my digital games over to a new switch, including Spla2n, without getting the new switch banned aswell?
