The Japanese version of this game was recently released. And guess what? Being the curious person I am, I decided to dump the game files and guess what I found. English files.

For Pioneers of Olive Town, we had wonderful volunteers (@JokerD @ehnoah) who were successfully able to create an English patch so using their work as an example, I have decided to create a patch as well.

The dialogue seems to be mainly complete however the text keeps cutting. A fix seems difficult since text strings would have to be edited and I do not have much experience in editing them.

YUZU USER MINI GUIDE:
1. Right click game in Yuzu list and choose "Open Mod Data Location."
Folder will be like "AppData\Roaming\yuzu\load\
0100936018EB4000"
2. Extract the zip file and place the patch in this folder.
3. Right click game in Yuzu list again and choose "Properties."
You should see it already checked in the window. "patch | LayeredFS"
4. Make sure it is checked, hit OK and then run the game as normal.

There are other languages available as well; download the patch.7z for the English patch and the Patch Creation.7z for other languages. Make sure to read the steps in readme. View attachment 349565

I'll share the first method that could help fix the text but it's... inconvenient and would require lots of efforts from someone.

Step 1: Download the LZS text extractor and packer from: https://github.com/JokerDKha/SOS-FoMT-LZS
Step 2: Place the .lzs file into the lzs-here and run extract.bat. The extracted .bin files will be in the File-extract folder.
Step 3: Download the Message Editor by Enfyve: https://github.com/Enfyve/SoS_FoMT-Modding-Tools/releases/tag/v1.0.0.
Step 4: Run the editor and open .bin file you would like to edit. It will have the text in it. And the big problem lies here, each line can only have up to only about 30 characters which means almost every line would have to be altered.
Step 5: Place the edited .bin file into the output folder and run patch.bat. A new .lzs file will be in the lzs-here folder which can be used as the patch. (Make sure to not move or delete anything else throughout the process.)

This method does work but it was better for SoS:FoMT which had a bigger character limit for each line so less text had to be moved around. Imo, it's too much effort for something that comes in 5 months. There's also another method @JokerD used by using HxD to mess around with spaces. It works in a similar way but it's much more complicated. (https://gbatemp.net/threads/story-o...mineral-town-english-port.550327/post-8893975)

Now what I am trying to do is find a way to open a file I found called font_jue.lzs. This decompression tool doesn't work for it. Ideally, I assume there would be font settings or something related in it which could be tweaked to fit the text. I'll post the file here just in case someone knows how to open the code in it.

Also a tool that might help but I'm not sure how to use it: https://github.com/FanTranslatorsInternational/Kuriimu2/releases/tag/1.2.1

I urge you to really again join the translation team on discord, I left their discord invite link on my comment in here - they know how to mess and help you out more better on that then on here cause you will end up waiting longer way too long then on discord if I'm being honest.
I know help comes but it takes a bit more, more, more time sadly. I still do adore gbatemp tho
