Hey all, let me preface this the fact that I have a low end PC by today's standards. It's several years old and I don't expect to do anything outside of low end gaming. Not looking for a miracle here. That being said, i recently switched from Windows 10 to Ubuntu Linux but am thinking Steam OS may be better optimized for gaming. I'm already well versed in Linux as I've worked in IT and have used it in the past so I'm not worried about that at all.

specs are as follows:
Ubuntu (latest release)
8gb RAM
I5 (not sure what gen off hand would have to look) 4 cores 8 threads
Gt 730 (pitiful ik 🤣)
240 gb SSD +1TB HDD

So I exceed the system requirements and ik it's debian based which is super lightweight anyways.

UPDATE: Went ahead and installed SteamOS anyways. Seems pretty good so far. Just need to make some tweaks to the resolution etc at things are cut off on my tv.
Any thoughts? Anyone here like SteamOS and use it on an old PC?
