Hey all.
4 days ago I got myself a neat Sony Bravia EX500.
It has a USB slot to play music, pictures and videos.
I have a Sony Handycam camera and tried connecting it using USB.
The videos played. But there was no sound and the videos were really small on the screen.
I tried stretching it, but the screen says "Feature not available with these options" or something like that.
I copied the videos off the camera to a USB stick and plugged into the TV. This time, there was sound. But the video was still small and unchangeable.
I converted them to avi...
Same results. Still too small.
Has anyone experienced this with the latest BRAVIA's by Sony?
Thanks guys.

I don't think you're supposed to use the USB to stream videos from the camera to your BRAVIA.
The camera should have some kind of true video output like HDMI for example. Use it. Should fix your problems. Although it won't fix the videos being small over USB, I think that's just a normal limitation.

No, haha the new Bravia's have this OS designed to play many, many formats off a USB.
It even has a button on the remote to view pictures, videos and music from a USB.
Maybe you should check these new Bravia's cause they're pretty impressive.
Except for that video issue... :/
It's not only with videos from my camera. It's also from any movie on a USB.

Is there a software update out for your model of TV? I had a few problems playing back h.264 media on my LG tv from usb, a firmware update corrected it. Different make of tv but still something worth looking into.

You mean like fw update via usb? I don't think that works cause it only reads the videos music and images.
If you mean like fw update via internet. That really doesnt work cause my tv is just a screen. It can't connect to the internet.
Sorry for my noobiness. But... um... yea.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
