ROM Hack So... Would anyone here care about a translation of Rocket Slime 3?

Alright. Status update.

So, I wasn't making a whole ton of progress. Why? Because I was using HxD, and that doesn't support Unicode, which is what you need to view Asian characters, at least in these files.

I'm now using 010 Editor, which is working much better, and allows for this.

If there's still interest, I hope to be able to extract level text soon-ish and send it to those interested. The main problem, though, is that it doesn't look like we'll be able to re-inject text using a hex editor alone, so we'll need to write a custom tool. This, unfortunately, is far beyond the extent of my abilities, so the help of someone who actually knows what they're doing will be required at some point.

this would be fantastic! my lack of hacking knowledge prevents me from doing anything more than cheering from the bleachers, but know that this would be appreciated by a lot of people.

oh and for those wondering where rocket slime 2 went, the first rocket slime was a gba game that never got localized. the DS Rocket Slime is actually the second RS game.

Yep, this NEEDS to be done. Along with the gba rocket slime game, for which the translation patch was never finished I believe. Hopefully TC gets the help he needs!

Thank you for reminding me that this game exists........Iforgot that it was a thing and now that I am on the side of true gaming freedom I will play it.
number 1 and 2 were godlike and I hope 3 gets an english patch.

Try to contact the team that is working on Dragon Quest Monsters english translation they are close to completion,maybe they will be interested ang help you on translating this game.

i would be quite interested in this. also, i don't think Helmax would be willing to do do it for a while, i'm pretty sure he's going from monsters 1 to 2, maybe after 2 he might do it (if he even does 2 at all...)

So. Update time.

I was able to hook up with the people behind the DQM: Terry's Wonderland 3D project. Nothing is quite set in stone just yet, but we were able to figure out a bit more of the game's files. With the Terry's Wonderland translation wrapping up, we are definitely considering doing this game next.

There is still quite a bit of work to do. Stay patient!

@ultramario1998 thanks for the update. I'm very excited by this project, Rocket Slime on DR was the first game that truly sucked in my SO. I'd love for her to be able to enjoy the sequel.
