Reading this reminds me of the old "I can sell you tomorrow’s winning lottery numbers" scam.

Goes like this:

For $500 cash, I'll sell you the Winning Numbers to tomorrow's lottery.
Don’t believe me?
Well, I'm not going to give you real numbers unless you pay me, but to prove I know them here's a coded version of tomorrow’s winning lottery numbers: 44 23 03 11 83 29
Come back tomorrow and I’ll prove it.

The next day after the Lottery is drawn, if the actual numbers turn out to be: 56 20 72 61 30 17, all I have to say is: the key was +12 -03 +69 +50 -53 -12

Sorry, maybe I aimed a little too high there?
(And what happened to your reply about these "keys" being 62 x 3 byte words anyways? You deleted that one.)

The idea is: it's easy to claim you know something that you don't, and just reuse the same teasers someone said that that actually does know the answer.

You know you can't actually prove it, so you disguise your lack of knowledge behind some other pretense, like not "legally" being able to show it. (A classic trolling move)

When the real answer comes out: the data you used to "claim" to know the answer will actually be correct, but you didn't know the answer until the person that teased you releases it.

Want proof?
Here's your proof: 0xFC, 0x3E, 0x29, 0xA2, 0xC9, 0x33, 0xFC, 0x08, 0x4B, 0xEC, 0x71, 0xBC, 0x22, 0x6D, 0x51, 0x90 (Mods, that's not the actual key - I masked it)
But I'll go one step further: - + + + - - + + - - - + - + + -
(Later on I'll explain what this is, but as another "teaser", it involves !)

Besides, that, unlike the XOR-Key, that key is actually totally useless.

People were really considering to install this without hardmods and proper SLC/EMMC backups? You guys are crazy.

Smea had some trouble with the wires length but i remember he had later a full working setup for dumping and restoring the EMMC (probably the slc also), so it shouldn't be hard to get some tested and working backups if you want to go ahead with this. Source: irc.

Please don't just waste $$$$ Wii U's with blind clueless attempts.

Hey i had a question about iosu. If we had it could there be a way to port over nintendont to the wii u menu and use the gamepad. Instead of vwii.

RIP IOSU, I guess Wii U Scene will stuck like the DSi Scene, hope I'm wrong.

I don't know .. since the Kernel exploit was made public a lot of ppl created homebrews. People like to say that the Wii U scene is dead but I don't think it's that bad.

I agree. WiiU would be the best homebrew due to the gamepad and various options of controls, imagine the reicast libretro core with the VMU displayed on the gamepad, but the WiiU will lose support likely soon, so homebrew can help push sales.

Sure, since the kexploit's we have more users that can develop some homebrew, but we are, well... limited in terms of permissions.

OK, thanks for the stern warning, Mom.
I was actually going to sacrifice one of my unused dust-collecting-spare Wii-U's to see if we could get this to work, but now, thanks to your post, I know better.

Thanks for reminding us that we are all just "Blind and Clueless" as you so well described us.

Your way is for sure the best way to make sure progress is made on this dead, useless console that even sucks as a doorstop.
(At least with my hardwood floors, mine is useless...the doors just push it out of the way. It does make for a decent paperweight though...)

I mean really, I completely forgot that everyone with a PS3 and/or 3DS that uses CFW has a hard-mod "Just in Case" one of their CFW's bricks their consoles... right? (I don't on mine, but I'm sure everyone else in the world does)

Thanks for the warning!
I'll just do what you and most everyone else is doing and continue to wait for "Hykem" (aka "The Grinch") to come back and save us all.
(Maybe he will bring back the Christmas trees, Candy Canes and Christmas presents he stole also!)

After all, Christmas is coming soon... (again) and for sure, he promised he'd
release his 100% percent finished and documented IOSU Exploit soon .... (before 2119).

(Oh, and @Pachee, I just tested this on you - you need to do the same for me! Left Click on my Avatar and then select "Ignore" user - It works a treat!)

fwiw slc hardmod is hell. i know at least 3 ppl who have bricked their systems trying to get that going. i think the chip might be (incidentally ofc) physically sensitive to heat or something. or easy to short with static? anyways if yr doing iosu hax, use the right wattage iron and be quick but efficient!

p.s. you can't just restore mlc + slc to downgrade a system. there's boot1 meta stored on gpio eeprom that you can't edit w/o iosu hax, and that eeprom is silicon on the MCM so you can't externally modify it. tl;dr only really useful for iosu debugging

Maybe I should do a hardmod. I've got a few teensys laying around. There are also solder points on the board which is 10x easier than soldering to nand legs. Here's my work on a permanent teensy install on b01 ps3.

Wow are we actually making progress. Id be glad to use my empty 128gb flash drive vs my 32gb sd card that's already used for wii modding.

I'm just dropping, haven't visited this thread in a while, asking what progress has been made, I'm seeing some things akin to hard mod, but that's all I know, so, what's going on?

OK, thanks for the stern warning, Mom.
......
I wasn't trying to be offensive nor discourage people, i was just giving out a warning. Where i live Wii U's cost a lot of money and it is insane to see people blindly thinking about installing a such a dangerous, undocumented and barely tested mod, especially after reading for days on irc the hard work smea went trough trying to get working dumps for his tests and how the Wii U itself is pretty much quite sensible with everything, ranging from SD adapter type, wires length and even the soldering job quality itself, since even a tiny leftover soldering ball your eyes can't see could temporally brick a console and drive you insane trying to find out why.

Also you should know how silly it is to compare a alpha/beta/omega Wii U iosu hack to PS3 CFWs since those are pretty stable nowadays.

Feel free to get mad and ignore me for literally nothing , but starting with that Hykem crp again tells me now that you were more interested on drama than anything else since the beginning.

@Datalogger, since I don't think you can see this otherwise
