It has fringe uses like being a great tool to have access to nearly every homebrew entrypoint for any given region, but its usefulness outside of that is a matter of opinion, heh.

It works whatever firmware you have.
It doesn't leave any trace in the system.

We all agree that CFW is better but if you're paranoid or/and don't want to hax your 3DS it's still the best option.

Personally I put all my cart games on it. It's also faster to copy a game to the SD card than installing it on the sloooooow 3DS, when you just want to quickly test a game it's nice.

I'm very disappointed by this new dock. I hoped they found a way to get rid of the private header but I guess it's nice if you don't have access to a 3DS with a CFW.

Well, found on Internets that this thing will be cheap. (Don't know the credibility though)
If it is so, then yes, rather interesting thing if you don't want to mess with hacking.
Especially interesting if you just are a gray pirate, that buys cartridges if the game is good.

Yes, with a private header extractor to txt file for convenience.
It also seems to be able to create everything all at once from cart to Sky3DS+.

I guess that's worthwhile. They would have been better to sell this during the drought from 9.2-10.3(?). There's not going to be too much market for it. It's still cheaper for most people to post their console to a hardmodder and get b9s installed than buy a Sky3DS plus this new product.

No idea, I guess if you don't have any issue you don't have to.
I know I will because I HAVE to but otherwise it's up to you.

If it's your own header and you are 100% sure it's injected correctly, I don't see why you should. The changeling doesn't include any increased compatibility, just dock compatibility.

This thread is from 2017, you're a tad late for the party. The answer is "yes", but the accessory is a little bit out of date given all the homebrew alternatives available.
