Is not that easy :P . I mean, i think Switch would make me happy right now, but what if i buy it and i dont like it, if i get bored cause just Zelda, etc. Sometimes is better to see the good and the bad and decide wisely, right?
Well then depends on what you looking for? You want a system that is 5 years old, but has a decent collection of good first party games (As if this is new with nintendo) Or a portable system with playing games that rival console quality on the go with more to come soon including supporting 3rd party titles?

I mean sure is hard, but if you know what you want the choice comes clear. For example, i wanna play xenoblade chronicles 2 when is released, so i got a switch. I wanted super smash bros so i got wii u, that why i said. "whatever makes you happy."

Don't regret being happy even if is for the moment and not long term. Each person is different. :)

I bought a used Wii U on the cheap to play Zelda (and homebrew), and I'm quite happy with my purchase. The Switch doesn't seem worth it yet for the asking price, as there are very few games available, and likely won't be until around Christmas. By then I bet Nintendo will have released a new hardware revision anyway to address some of the issues with the current one (dock scratching the screen, dumb charging port location, joycon sync issues, not enough internal memory).

Because you do a lot of travelling, I envision the Switch being ideal for you right now. You'll get a lot of play time out of Zelda and then soon enough there will be a bunch more games available.

I do love my Wii U, and contrary to what many will tell you, it does have games. But it is not the easiest system to travel with as you've gotta take the console, the power brick, the gamepad, the gamepad's power brick, the IR sensor, the games, and the controllers (and whatever else you may need). For right now, it does not seem like your ideal choice between the two. Plus, I envision its price could go down in the relatively near future, so "Switch now, Wii U later" is probably a cheaper overall proposition to "Wii U now, Switch later".

My advice if you don't have a lot of money: take your time and buy a Switch for X-mas, there will be much more games. I mean, there is only BOTW, 1-2-Derp, Fast RMX and Just Dance 2017 for now.
If you're rich: Buy both now :P

Possible price reduction and/or bundle for a reduced price.

Like, 6 months? How much time would it take to get cheaper?

EDIT: If price is a factor i think i should buy it now. I have a relative that works at the store where the Switch is sold and he can get like 10% off, here that would be like 50$ so is better do it now and not risking him to get fired or something like that in 6 months lol.
