Does this app auto generate any kind of settings.cfg file? Because it never seems to remember any of my specified settings.

Custom paths, GUI settings, doesn't matter what I change, it always resets to default whenever I load the app.
of course, the app create a config file on sd or usb... wich version do you use? r127, or beta 61 ?

@dj_skual:
First of all: Thanks for your great tool!

I've got a big feature request: Cloud support

For all the people who have got a Wii and a vWii (Wii U) with an emunand each, it would be fantastic if Savegame Manager GX would support cloud services, at least one of the following:
Google Drive
Microsoft OneDrive
Dropbox
Box
MEGA.co.nz

The problem is that emunand folders of Wii and vWii are incompatibel so just taking the SD or USB drive over from one to the other console won't work.
However: Savegame Manager GX can handle all savegames and Miis brilliantly. But instead of always moving hardware it would be great to implement a feature where I can instantly sync all savegames and Miis with a cloud.

I could
  • start playing world 1 of Mario on Wii
  • sync to cloud on Wii (to get the savegame up)
  • sync to cloud on vWii (to get the savegame down to console)
  • play world 2 and 3 on vWii
  • sync to cloud again
  • continue with world 4 on Wii and so on ...

I think a cloud feature would be great for everyone! Not only owners of two consoles.
Maybe you could even cooperate with the devs of USB Loader GX to make savegames one click syncing after playing from there. But that's not a must. :)

it's a very good idea... will perhaps look later when all other features will be finished ;)

The Wii U is pretty popular, and arent all the emulators for the Wii U just the Wii emulators?

I would think there would be continued support just for that

I love the wii personally, its just so convenient for so many games, and pretty much all 2D systems are emulated good on it (especially with the new development of mGBA)

Wiis are super cheap to buy (used), and super easy to mod, and I highly recommend them

This thread is about a Wii save game manager, not emulators?

Guess I missed the big update, such a convenient timing because I've gotten a few busy weeks with work so it might take me a while to get to testing it.

Eh, not quite, there are still many 2D emulators that weren't properly ported over to the Wii (or hasn't been ported altogether) such as 32X, MAME, Neo Geo, Turbu-Dou (PC-Engine Disc System), VMU, PC-98, Amiga, Comador-64, Sega Model 1&2, and Sega Pico, just to name a few, all of which were emulated quite good on the original Xbox!

Also am I the only one who's surprised of the lack of proper emulators for NDS, Sega Saturn, N64, PSP, and Android since all of them have good open source emulators out there?

I did a little testing earlier today, I'll report the bugs that I have found though I'm sure most of them are known, hope this helps.

-Software crashed on me when trying to load a big raw file (16MB) but it worked fine with a small one (2MB)
-Trying to copy data from raw data to another seems to work but there is no "cancel" button
-Global copy is still under development
-Software seems not to work with SD cards bigger than 32GB (tested with 64GB and it doesn't recognize the SD card) I will say that this same issue happens with Wii Xplorer and SB Loader GX for me but my other apps and emulators seem to work fine

Other than that it seems to work fine, I didn't get the chance to test deleting a save data from a channel installed on EmuNAND though last time I checked it deleted the entire channel, I reported that I think but I need to test again to confirm, I'll report once I get around testing it.

It's not a "want" as much as a "necessity" I had to exit the entire app just to cancel the menu for copying from one raw to another, it's cool if you don't want to implement it but I feel like it should be there, also clicking the "X" button did nothing.

Anyway, this might be related https://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx.149922/page-1099#post-6203527

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
