There are still, AFAIK, a dozen weird cases of bricks out of ca. 25,000. Blame the user for all the other bricks.
I did say Pretty much*
There are odd cases, I know, I've been helping people since sunday. Just dealt with 3 2ds users on 10.3 who couldn't downgrade until they system formatted.

Im not blaming the user for everything... there are quirks, but in all the people I've helped I haven't had one hardbrick yet.

I seen a few that truly weren't user related. The program would just lock up during downgrade, and cause a brick.

I personally downgraded just fine.

Using julian20's build, a true brick shouldn't happen. Even then, from the start we knew KTM wouldn't fix anything like that. All it was going to do was remove user error from the equation. That's it.

Welp. Now I'm not sure what to do. I downgraded my o3DS today just fine. Should I downgrade my n3DS now? Or will I be fine with just the o3DS? Any opinions?

If you want CFW on your n3ds, then you should definitely try sooner rather than later. The potential for bricks still exists (And always will), but you're much better off prior to 10.4 being released. If you get a soft brick and 10.4 is released, you'll lose your chance to downgrade.

To be safe, if you're going to downgrade, you should format your system first. Start out with a fresh system, and you're less likely to end up with the soft bricks that people have been getting.

If you've already got an entrypoint set up, you can wait as long as you like.
It's not an incredible hazard to the N3DS, much less with the latest commits to sysUpdater. At most you might land yourself a soft brick which can easily be restored.

Yup, this wasn't a hard brick but still something difficult to be fixed : https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/3zou30/possible_hard_brick_o3ds_103_latest_sysupdater/ . Sorry

But you haven't heard about users installing the wrong update for their model ...
Was this answer in reference to my query about losing connection with an SD between cias?
No worries, I didn't actually brick a unit this way, was just curious if losing an SD connection should be something I'm concerned with when using an unreliable reader.

Good to hear even a circumstantial issue like this shouldn't result in any permanent damage.

Though, if you softlock after 10.4 is out (Tuesday seems likely), you'll end up restoring to 10.4, which presumably patches out current entrypoints and memchunk2.

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
