mGBA vs the cores in RA, what works better? I've never had much trouble with GBA in RA, but mGBA seems to be really popular. Is it just because it's stand alone?

mGBA is one of the best GBA emulators, works just as well as a core in retroarch or the standalone version, so it's mostly personal preference.

anyone get San Franciso Rush 2049, Heay Metal - Geomatrix or Hydro Thunder running on Flycast yet?? because it came in black but lot of games has been gain and improvement so far Super Runabout, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Sega Rally 2 is still slow. :(
San Francisco Rush 2048 works but you need to go to quick menu, options and set Cable Type to TV (RGB) and Broadcast to NTSC. This fix works for many other games that show black screen, so it might work for the others too.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is being fixed, as are many other 2D games that run slow. The fix has alrewady been pushed to standalone flycast and should hit libretro flycast any day now.

Sega Rally 2 will probably always run slow because it is a WinCE game. Don't expect WinCE games to ever run well. I think Super Runabout is also WinCE.

yo i swear we should play a game in the thread where we all share little discoveries like this and configs then that turns into this like tips/faq section in the opening cause retroarch has so much stuff like this. Like how you get ki to work or how i got t2 arcade area 51 and lethal enforcers working i just recently got the oot reloaded pack working thanks to help and i was blown away the amount of specific knowledge is insane

Well, with the arcade stuff like MAME 2003 Plus, FB Neo etc., there's just so many games that they have to be taken on a case by case basis. Especially as MAME 2003 Plus isn't supported by MAMEdev.

hopefully it will hit Switch soon
Why? It would be the same as the Retroarch core.

A wiki to collect recommended settings for particular cores/games would be great.

I don't think so because it's not working with SXOS, so it's the worst, the only known emu not supporting SXOS, what a shame.
Go blame SX. They need to add key features in order to properly support Retroarch. It’s their fault.

Contrary to popular belief, Retroarch does not arbitrarily block SXOS. When they say SXOS isn’t supported, they mean ‘don’t run to us for support if it doesn’t work’. How can Retroarch possibly diagnose the cause of problems with SXOS when it’s closed source? How can they make pull requests to fix issues if it’s closed source?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
