In a recent reddit thread I made, one of the most requested homebrew was some way to upload your saves to a cloud/pc/another 3ds locally.
3DSync aims to be your way to go if you need one of these things.

Be wary that this is the first iteration of this homebrew, it can currently only upload your /3ds/Checkpoint/saves to Dropbox. It will eventually support more clouds, a local PC client and local 3DS wireless, but I'll be away from home for the following week or two so I thought that even if incomplete it needs a first round of testing.

Usage
  1. Download CIA or 3DSX from GitHub releases (click here)
  2. Use configurator webpage to generate the config file (click here)
  3. Backup any games you want with Checkpoint
  4. Copy the config file to /3ds/3DSync/3DSync.ini
  5. Open 3DSync and let it upload your saves!

Report any errors and suggestions on this thread and I'll gladly address them once I'm back.
Happy backup!

I saw the reddit thread and I'm so happy that this great idea wasn't abandoned just as a concept, congratulations!, and looking forward to future releases, it would be a good idea to merge the functionally of this with Checkpoint/JKSM itself! Now if I remeber correctly, the second most sugested feature was to sync directly with other 3DS's, for those (like me) who have more than a single system. Another thing is that this could be made compatible with Citra, but I don't know how difficult could that be.

Another good homebrew idea was to have an alt to Home Menu that supports more titles and type of contents, although I believe that the Universal team is working on that.

Didn't expect to hit dev API limit so fast, I'm going to apply to production API, hoping they approve fast ahahahah

Next versions will have a customizable path so it will be compatible with JKSM and virtually anything

Edit: While applying to production API it gave me 500 more users so you can use it for now

does adding users cost anything? or do they increase it when the limit is reached?

Wait.

Can I save to Google Drive.

Not yet, but it's high in the priority list. I picked Dropbox first because it has simpler APIs. In the meantime you can make your dropbox sync to your PC, and then have that folder sync on Drive. Not much elegant, but a good workaround while waiting for the Drive support :)

It won't cost anything but it has to go through Dropbox staff approval, I have to write what the application does and why I need their APIs and they have to verify that. I don't know how much time it will take given that it is not your ordinary Android/Desktop/Whatever app

A desire to say "thanks for doing this, and keep up the great work" is what finally motivated me to register an account with GBAtemp. So: thanks for doing this, and keep up the great work. It's been almost a decade since I've done any serious coding, but this might have inspired me to dust off my keyboard and get cracking.

Is this still being worked on? Wondering since the Github hasn't been updated in a while. Sry for my impatience but I waited for a homebrew like this for a long time

Development is on halt because of this lockdown, I'm away from my workstation. It will resume hopefully soon, when this whole thing is over, don't worry.

Is there any way to make this work for homebrew/emulator screenshots? Removing the microSD from a N3DS is a royal pain.
Yes, custom sync folder would be next update

If possibile, I would avoid using Micro SD Management. It uses SMB 1.0 as a protocol and it's highly vulnerable and a very severe security flaw in your network
True. It depends on how much you trust the network that you're running it on. FTPD may be a better alternative for the more security conscious: https://github.com/mtheall/ftpd

Ever since this launched I have been trying to get it to work. Whenever I login via Dropbox and click the download button it just downloads a generic file called "download". I have tried on and off for weeks/months on multiple devices all with the same result. I know this is a WIP but.....I can't figure this out. HELP! ;)
