Yeah, what does that "wut" stuff means?
I just took a look, and it was a message for me if it couldn't download the filter. If you want to fix it, download this and place the 'filter.txt' file into the JKSV folder on your SD card. Also, new filter.txt for anyone paying attention. Freshly generated.

Although I'm new to the scene and went straight to Checkpoint (including for JKSM saves), it's great news nonetheless to see the original developer back.

One question though. @JK_ Are you developing JKSM for both the Switch and 3DS? Or only the Switch? I doubt it's only the 3DS from what I can tell of your update, but can you clarify please? Just not that obvious to me. Thanks!

It started out on both, but Switch became the main focus. It started out as a mock-up to see how much I could draw with the gfx.cpp without the framerate suffering on Switch. It was just this at first and only listed titles:

The 3DS version will continue at some point and be reuploaded to Git. It's basically just writing it around citro2d instead of sf2d. With some issues I ironed out in the Switch version, like the menus not scrolling to the bottom correctly if there's exactly 16 items listed.

Is there a reason you're not using Checkpoint?

If you want to backup Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor: Overclocked, for example. There a few other games that Checkpoint can't backup (ARM11 exception handler crash, IIRC), don't have the list right now.

FWIW, the recent link to JKSM that @JK_ posted doesn't work with Devil Survivor either (I have only tried the .3dsx, not the CIA, so maybe the later does work). The old CIA I have of JKSM does indeed work without any problems.

Did you use the CIA version of Checkpoint, 3DSX version, or both?

Both. Neither of them work with Devil Survivor. I don't know what it is that causes the save manager to crash and, as stated above, the link @JK_ posted a few days ago for JSKM doesn't work for those games either.

Still, it is not the only game in which this happens. Scribblenauts unlimited is another game that Checkpoint can't backup either. Both work with the old cia of JKSM that I have installed in my 3ds. Don't have that CIA file in my HD anymore though, and the github page is dead. :(

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
