Tried the demo of Ara Fell and that works but with a tiny bit of glitchy music.
Do the games need the RPG_RT.exe files?
Is there anything that could be removed from a standard easyRPG folder?

This version should fix the glitchy music (please test and confirm):

For the missing Chipset files you need to install the RTP (Runtime Package).

The required files are iirc "Rpg Maker 2000 RTP 1.0" and the 2003 RTP is included with "RPG Maker 2003".
These are exe files so you have to instal them under Windows :/
After installing you will see a "RTP" folder at the install location which contains the folders you also see in game directories (Music, ChipSet, Title, System, ...).
For the 2000 RTP put this folder in /data/easyrpg-player/rtp/2000 and for 2003 rtp in the /2003 folder respectively.

Did not make any difference.
It's a stutter when loading the music? as it only happens when the music starts play at the begining ,once a few seconds in no stutter and plays OK.
Only on Ara Fell

Downloaded the files for RTP but they have an error on winrar
Is there anywhere else I can get them.

Aah right. Ara Fell uses "ADPCM WAV" music files. The library EasyRPG uses for playing compressed PCM audio reads the whole file once (and we can't prevent this from happening), that's why you get a short hang when the Music playback starts. No solution for this, sorry. :/

The only workaround is to reencode the Music folder to MP3 or OGG (simply delete the wav files and put the new files with ogg or mp3 ending in).

Hm, the RTP files work for me. Try downloading them again. Or use 7zip for extracting.

Where do you actually place them?

I had them in easyrpg/RTP/2000 and easyrpg/RTP/2003 but still missing graphics.

I did test the build you posted (the vpk for PSVita), and now the bug is gone! Great job, now I can continue playing!

Here there are some screens I took, I know they're nothing special, but after all, it's just a good game playing on a good engine :D.

About music, I sometimes can hear stutter in the music, but not related to loading, rather to FPS. But it doesn't look like a 1:1 match, I can loose some FPS before the music starts stuttering, getting 60 fps again solves of course. I wonder if it's due to raw WAVs being read, maybe it's too much data streaming, while the engine is under rendering stress? I'll try converting them to mp3 or ogg, like you suggested.

Are you going to improve the software further, or maybe fixing bugs? Is there a place where I can follow?

OT: Because I'm not actively monitoring gbatemp I enabled the notification system of gbatemp on Sunday. This way it sends me a mail when something new is posted here. The last mail I received contained "I will try the conversion to mp3.", therefore I ignored it because was nothing for me to respond to. But looks like gbatemp will not send any other mail about new posts in the topic until you visit the thread again. Wow, this is completely useless!

Back to topic:
OK found that copying the Japanese 2003RTP into the 2000 RTP folder sorts out the Awakening problem.
Aaah, you want to play a japanese game. I linked you to the RTPs of the inofficial/illegal translation because I thought you want to play an English game :D. Sorry.
EasyRPG has some redirection magic btw which means with a japanese RTP you can also play games that depend on the English RTP (though other direction is not implemented as you noticed).

Thank you but I'm Sorry, you understood me incorrectly. I didn't mean screenshots. I meant a photo with your camera where the PSVita hardware is visible while Ara Fell is visible on its screen :D (a scene where Lita is standing outside like in 2017-01-30-175316 is fine).

That is strange because Music playback is running independend of the game logic (in a different thread). This means slow gameplay should not influence the music. The only reason I can think of is loading of assets (new images that appear on screen) because music is streamed from the memory-stick and when the stick is busy with reading pictures this could result in short BGM buffer underruns.

Yes it is still under active development. The sourcecode is available here: https://github.com/EasyRPG/Player and you can report bugs under "Issues" (please search first if your bug is already known).

EasyRPG Player runs on many different platforms (Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, Wii, 3DS, Vita and a few more) and these platforms share 99% of the EasyRPG code (= when a game is broken on Linux and Android it is broken on the Vita, too. This makes the development much easier because development and debugging tools on major operating systems are far superior). The only platform dependend code is Video, Audio and Input. Rinnegatamante wrote the video and the input code (and the new stutterfree audio is my invention).

I've just gone back to build #66 and it plays a lot better.
Player movement better. Still stutters but not as much.

I can confirm, it happens at every level load, as well as something related to the snow, or randomly, but I didn't find it as annoying as I think you did, after all it doesn't bother the gameplay that much.

Have you tried the latest build? as this is where I have the bad skipping.
Try moving the character around constantly. especially where you may have more than one sprite moving about.
There is a section at the prologue where there are three bats and the two characters. Almost slows down to a halt.
It's a big improvement in the #66 build.

How well is Yume Nikki is running on this currently?

Would it be okay if someone made a "standalone" build with it? (Both the app\tool and game are free, anyways)
Last time I made one it took a while to make it work (because of the filenames and such)

Isn't that for RPG Maker VX

This port is for RPG Maker 2000/2003 games
