cpu: intel core 2 quad q6700 @ 2.66ghz
ram: 6gb ddr2
gpu: nvidia gt 630
os: linux mint w/ wine-1.6.2

also, on the other game I tried (mario maker) for some reason the text was weird there aswell

It's probably Linux. Try running it on a supported OS instead.

nope
it should work fine, it uses opengl

Why should it? It was written for Windows, not Linux. Wine is not a perfect solution for getting Windows programs to run.

i'll try updating to a winhq dev build, but last time I used one gta:sa stopped working and gta 4 had a huge performance loss

Yeah, see... That doesn't happen when you run games on the OS they're designed for, instead of trying to shoehorn them in to others with imperfect solutions.

lol so I:
- copied mario kart 8 to my ssd (got rid of some lag spikes)
- switched to the latest winehq-staging
and now pretty much everything is upside down, not just the textures!

I guess my only choice now is to mess around with different graphics drivers and versions of cemu, and wait until the dev of this finally releases source code so it's easily recompilable to linux :c

edit: I managed to fix it by using this version: mega:///#!WwMARArL!JGeD_0QTPoZykYZq5jTwuKvUCDUwlW2MmRh5K9_-Md4

Yep I would love for the source to be released. It's not fun to figure out how something works by staring at x86-64 assembly code all day. And being able to port is a nice thing as well.

Open source can't come soon enough for Cemu. Look what it did for Dolphin. Hopefully decaf-emu picks up as well. Closed source means other teams cannot learn from your program unless you disassemble it. I'm gonna try to do some rigorous testing for decaf-emu and try to provide assistance in that way at least to try and improve gx2 implementation.

Perhaps a good idea if/when Cemu goes open source is for them to charge $29.99 a month for binaries (even for stable versions) while the source code of course remains free. Perhaps $49.99 a month for access to an on-demand build bot for each commit.

Heh, I wish. I take it you never heard of the WiiKeyU debacle?

Nope. I didn't even know wii u iso's aren't full dumps. I always just assumed they were. So I guess loadiine dumps/ddd /dumpiine dumps aren't full dumps either? Because i usually use ddd or dumpiine.

They are, they're just pre-decrypted because it's getting read from the drive by the Wii U (as opposed to the image on the disk being copied bit for bit)

But then exzap couldn't squeeze money from any of his patrons. Everyone would just look at tutorials on youtube on how to compile it.
That's like asking him to give up his cash cow.which he won't for any reason.because greed is evil and is one of the seven deadly sins that kill us all.we could rush cemu to perfection much quicker if it was open source. I think exzap is afraid of a Yami-Hack for cemu just like the one on citra because he doesn't want other people to progress on the emu faster than he can charge $$$.
