Well, it could be released as a beta now and more people could provide feedback. Plus it adds a free backuploader which I would count as a new feature

I suspect so also. Probably people Rei feels is able to do a "proper" beta test, and do so confidentially. (EG, are able to systematically test various aspects of the CFW, and can provide steps to reproduce any findings, while also keeping those findings and the beta-test confidential until the software is mature enough for release.)

well saying that you test something, doesn't looks like a bad joke to me, I mean I am actually a reviewer for PC Hardware, so I am kind of experienced with keeping what I should keep to myself.

Indeed. At Rei's rate of development, we should not have to wait much longer to see for ourselves anyway. I eagerly await the official release.

To be fair, Rei spilled the beans herself about the beta test existing. Admitting to being a part of the test group after such an action seems OK, considering that this group has been totally mum for all this time while Rei was plunking away at it.
