So I did a full board swap for my Super Famicom 3DS that came today.

A full US Snes special 3DS! The board swap also meant that I got to keep my A9LH (Great since the Super Famicom edition comes with 11.0)

Note to anyone doing board swaps. Be very very VERY careful with the black and white ribbon cable on top. It's very flimsy and is the digitiser (Controls touch input)

why not just region swap to US??

Well The system comes with 11.0, so no access to that type of homebrew to downgrade/overwrite system firmware.

Also from what I've read a lot of the region swapping ends incomplete. Plus I can just region swap the old (black) 3ds if I ever desire to.

I also didn't want to setup a hard mod when the NAND points are on the underside of the board for N3DS models

the new dsiware downgrade, and maybe, but my 3ds region swap was 100% complete, eshop and everything!

To be honest I was confused about the whole DSiware downgrade since it only worked for 11.0/11.1, but you needed 11.2 to access the eShop

the purchase is on another console that you data transfer to the 11.0/11.1 console.

Op wouldn't have access to eshop on n3ds with a region swap a motherboard swap is the harder but better thing to do
then how to I have access to the eshop on my region swapped JP 3ds?
the guide's been updated for a looooong time with that implicated now

After this process, only New 3DSs which have never accessed the eShop before and any Old 3DSs will be able to access the eShop after creating a new NNID on their new region. Region changed New 3DSs that have already accessed the eShop on their original region cannot create a new NNID and access the eShop on their new region!
from the guide,,, (you would still have to have some jpn console already to do the dsiware downgrade, or access the eshop yourself)

That must be an old 3ds and not a n3ds.
you'd be correct. I didn't know there was a difference for region swapping..

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I think that there isn"t any exploitable DSiWare game currently avaliable for purchase in the Japan eShop.
@Mr.ButtButt Do you use an Original 3DS or a New 3DS?
the one rock music creator game, and sudoku hacks, i think..
and I used an o3dsxl

Yeah, you can just use Sudoku hacks with basically any dsiware game that fits the prerequisites, swap out the game & save for Sudoku so long as it meets a few requirements and it transfers fine

Ah, I see people are now injecting Sudoku, guess that now that there aren"t that much titles that are exploitable people go to do this, well I knew of this but not that it started being used by the community for downgarde (I haven"t checked a lot of thigns in general altely because of the time I have).

If you were to sell these "USA" versions you'd actually have a good market, and you're adding value to the system unlike scalpers.
