Loves:
Dragon Quest V and IX
Ghost Trick
Radiant Historia
Likes:
Dragon Quest IV, VI
Avalon Code
'Tales' series
Pokemon
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker I and II.
LostMagic
Lost in Blue (dunno why. The gameplay was frustrating as hell but I liked it)
Sims: Urbz
Golden Sun
Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light
Animal Crossing
Rune Factory 3
Dislikes:
Zelda games on DS
Phoenix Wright series
For fighting/action games, I like good storylines above all.. Dragon Quest V was amazing and had a great amount of dialogue. IX was nice because of the unique setting, but I was kind of sad that your party members weren't part of the story.
Radiant Historia and Tales of Innocence made battles fun, and both had cool storylines.
I like games like pokemon, dqm, animal crossing, rune factory, etc. because of the collecting/creating factors.
I disliked Phoenix Wright because I don't like games where I'm not 'doing' something, even if it does have a developed storyline. It was all centered around stories, and sometimes the 'clues' and crap didn't make sense in court and frustrated the hell out of me, and other times they fit together perfectly.
Ghost Trick had one of the most amazing storylines, and wasn't frustratingly difficult. Plus there was a lot more action involved than in Phoenix Wright series.
I can't read Japanese, so don't bother recommending something that's not translated.
