I've set up a friend's Japanese N3DSXL for Menuhax/BootCtr with EmuNAND. The boot rate going into BootCtr is great, probably 95+%, but going into EmuNAND from BootCTR is atrocious, probably around 60% success.

Obviously the solution is A9LH, but it's not my 3DS, so it's not my decision.

Is there anything I can do to improve this?

Up the delay in the config file.

pbanj, you're just the guy with the answers, aren't you?

So do I open the config file with Notepad++ or something? What am I looking for, and what's a good setting do you think?
Sometimes I am. Ya just use notepad++ (its the best lol) I think I had like 1200 for mine when I used it. You should see the delay option under the entry if not you can add it

In the txt file you uploaded it says delay = 2000

Is that the right part? So you had your delay set even faster then, right? But I should increase it, though, right?
Correct. Just play around with it until you find one that works best
I had mine at 2500 at one point

Is there a way to determine the best delay? I'm trying to improve my Reinand bootrate on n3DS and I'm not sure how to do it... I changed it from 2000 to 2500 and it SEEMS better, but I still get black screens on boot pretty regularly... Is the higher the better or not necessarily?

Argh! It's boot.cfg I'm supposed to look at, right? I don't see delay there anywhere! It just looks like this:

boot_config :
{
timeout = 3;
autobootfix = 2;
recovery = 2;
default = 0;
entries = (
{
title = "AuReiNand";
path = "/aureinand.dat";
offset = "0x12000";
},
{
title = "HomeBrewMenu";
path = "/boot.3dsx";
} );
theme :
{
bgTop1 = "ffffff";
bgTop2 = "ffffff";
bgBottom = "ffffff";
highlight = "ffffff";
borders = "ffffff";
font1 = "000000";
font2 = "e6001e";
bgImgTop = "/yourimage.bin";
bgImgBot = "/yourimage2.bin";
};
};

};
};

You can use an ftp program to edit it or ctrxplorer to do it on 3ds. Just add the delay part to it

So it would be

title = "AuReiNand";
path = "/aureinand.dat";
offset = "0x12000";
delay = "2000";

It depends. Each 3ds is diff. You will always get a failed boot every so often. The delay just helps it not be so often. Also the delay has nothing to do with menuhax bootrate.
