Recently got a ps3 from a friend. Didn't realize it was going to have YLOD so I have a few questions.

1. Before it got YLOD it had RSOD after replacing the hard drive I tried to install the software but at around 27% it boosted up to 100% and gave me RSOD again. After a few tries all of the sudden I got YLOD. Did RSOD do something to cause YLOD?

2. The only way for me to not get YLOD is to remove the SSD. Of course, it won't boot up without an SSD so it gives me an error. Does that show what the issue is?

I could probably come up with more questions but what I am trying to figure out is what I need to do (or replace) to fix it.

The model number is CECH-L01

Rsod is usually caused by corrupted vtrm. I can see it causing ylod, I guess. There are ways to fix it via pkg iirc.
