I recommend CWCheat: http://cwcheat.consoleworld.org/
It's still kept up to date. You can also download the latest version of the database even if there's not a new version of the plugin. And they have cheats for PS1 games as well.
And yes, it works on the slim.

Edit: Ugh, press R and it pops up a M33 recovery something.
Stuff i rather NOT toy around in. But, the installation FAQ says to put in root folder of the PsP, which i do, then check it in Plugins for the M33.
But, it doesn´t show. Why? Am i doing something wrong?

Edit2: Some more reading and ive fixed the issue.
