Hacking PSP 3000 with firmware 6.39 question

Hi every1, I have a psp 3000 with the 6.39 firmware, and want to know which is the best way to hack my psp, I read the PSP hacking/modding F.A.Q and the CFW for dummies.
So I get I can try to downgrade to 6.20 and if it doesnt work I can try downgrade to 6.35, but the other guide say to update to 6.60 and hack it too. So my 3 question are:

1-The CFW for dummies say that there is no problem to try to downgrade to 6.20, is this true?

2-Which is better the 6.35 hack or the 6.60 hack?

3-Is there a better option?

Just hack it on the firmware you have now and save yourself a bunch of trouble. Trust me on this, use 6.39 PRO.

6.60 is the version that came right after 6.39 for some reason, it's no big improvement.
