When I come back from my job... I hope it will be there I don't think it will be but let's hope, right?

It certainly should be. Heck, I'm suprised its not already!
Otherwise, I've lost hope in DS community. Come on guys, what other DS games are you actually looking forward to?
Whats that? None?! Well, why not get end it with an early bang right?
It could be one of the last DS-Super-Hits for me :) (Of course, there will come a few good games in the future, but Layton is something extra-ordinary^^) And my English IS bad. I can write simple sentences, but playing a whole videogame in another language? That's too difficult^^
But it's worth a try. Let's see if it works. ;)

They should have taken out the self executable part of the name to make it less obvious ^^ Too bad though, I'm gonna go to bed and have to play Phoenix Wright 3 for the 4th time instead of this.

I've been replaying the Ace attorney games myself, on Apollo justice now, would be playing AAI2 if capcom translated it!

I pretty much replay it from the beginning everytime I finish the last one. I maybe leave a few months between the last and the first. I would do the same with Layton but the more random tile based and remove all balls on the field games piss me off enough to never touch the games a second time.

Would I have to finish the first three Layton games to understand this one? I heard The Last Specter is a prequel.

None of the games rely on other ones in the series. Knowledge from the other games is a bonus, not a requirement.

Honestly, I love the Ace Attorney series, but they don't have enough replay value to play all the games again more than once every year or two.
(Also, I always skip Apollo Justice because it makes me sad. I imagine Phoenix going on cases til he dies or becomes a judge.)

Ontopic: Has any temper been into a store to see if Specter's Flute is in stock? Had I any money, I'd buy and dump it myself.

Yeah it is a prequel, before the first 3 games.
So I would say you're safe. It may help us understand things in the later games, but this is the first chronologically gamewise. At least so far.

@TehSkull, You dont like apollo that much? I love them all. I admit phoenix seems... the icon of the series, but I think they should make a trilogy of apollo games too, and perhaps go back to phoenix,
if he gets his badge back

Thanks a lot. Ever heard of spoiler tags?
If you're referring to Apollo Justice, it's your fault for not having played the game. It came out 3 years ago. Plus, it's pretty much given away right at the beginning.
Doesn't matter, that game had nothing to do with this thread, people shouldn't spoil shit without warning.
I wouldn't consider something given away even in the demo (I played it, I'd know) to be a spoiler.

How weird of them to announce the wrong date, or of GameStop to not stock on the given date.

File name is PLayLS.nds, 268,435,456 bytes, CRC32 is 3F4F0E86, untrimmed. I don't think you will locate it by searching for the file name, however.

London Life appears to be fully working on DeSmuME so far.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
