The nfc/amiibo stuff actually did ship on 9.0 N3DS systems.
Yup. Thank goodness it's a 2ds. I have an EUR 9.2 n3ds btw.

So if my 10.3U N3DS XL only gives errors on downgrading, can I do anything with the information in this thread to make the downgrade successful?
Nope, if you read carefully you'll see this thread is for random errors and general unstability after a not-so-successful downgrade.
I'm having the same problem. Using the current web exploit and it boots into homebrew launcher.
I try loading an FTP app for a bit.
I then load the sysupdater and sometimes I get black screen on launch... other times I get missing CIA files... sometimes it freezes mid run.
Running 10.3
I have a gateway card... And I have a sky3ds.
Can either of those help me get this N3DS XL downgraded?
I guess you now have the one from v9.6.0 (or later) in your sysnand 9.2 and emunand 9.5Interesting thread! Just wanted to say that after upgrading and downgrading over the past week, that on a downgraded N3ds EU console 10.3-9.2, when I tried to update the newly set-up emunand with 9.5 files (for eshop access), there is one cia that will not install and is called invalid 000400300000B902.cia. Deleting that single file from the 9.5 upgrade pack allows installation of 9.5 and all seems to operate completely fine. I only mention this because when the console was on 9.2 before, that exact same cia from the exact same download installed fine. So, there seems to be something in an upgrade to 10.3 and then downgrade to 9.2 that does something to the system firmware. Reason for upgrade was to perform a system transfer so I could keep my legit and exploited consoles separate. Everything worked fine, except that small issue with that one cia despite having reflashed the 9.2 nand.
I thought menuhax doesn't install in 10.3?install menuhax.
That would be ideal. You'd get your old 9.2 version back for sure.I'm hoping to avoid any random issues by flashing my old 9.2 sysnand backup file (via gateway menu downgrade option (select with up + A) AFTER downgrading from 10.3 - not sure if it was necessary but I kinda feel good being able to do this from a 10.3 old 3ds xl without a hardmod.

Maybe I misunderstood. I guess it's just the rxtools that won't install in 10.3?

If you look at the screenshots in the sysupdater, you'll see there's an update option too.I'm waiting for my N3DS to arrive shortly, and wondering ... what if I downgrade from the version I get to 9.0.0 (and not 9.2.0).
Is there a way to force an OVERWRITE of ALL the resulting titles from the downgrade to the ones from the 9.2.0 pack (essentially, an UPDATE from 9.0.0 to 9.2.0)?
Am I missing some other additional info, as those two titles that Aroth mentioned and aren't in the 9.2.0 update pack and will stay on higher versions...
Very confusing
You'd have to get the packs for each and compare. I have no experience with 2DS.If you look at the screenshots in the sysupdater, you'll see there's an update option too.
Pretty sure you'd select that instead and it would bump you back up. (using the upgrade cia's)
Do the 2DS and O3DS use the same 9.2 CIA Sysnand install files?

The "bonus" titles are the cver and home menu. doesn't account for titles that got added to the n3ds soap reply and updated in later updatesI'm not sure if it will be useful, but when I region-swapped my N3DS from 8.1J, I used the "bonus" N3DS 9.2 SOAP response from OP on this thread by Yifan Lu to create a "full" update pack. Since she(?) had to manually add in titles that had never been updated on the US firmware (that weren't on the Japanese firmware), it might be useful in case there were some updates after 9.2 was pushed. It's just a list, though. I had to manually dig through yls8's update reports to find what firmware packs might have these in .cia format, then I had to go to that ISO site and dig through their selection to find the files I was missing. I haven't done a downgrade, though, so I'm not sure if it would be helpful.
Edit: The added titles are at the end of the report. They include the title and the version number.
So does any experienced user know the updating behaviour of the following 3 updaters (and maybe others):
1- BBM (from my own experience, it will object by saying "invalid cia" and just stop)
2- sysUpdater 0.3 (again from experience, it will skip those titles in the pack that are the same version, but continue with the rest.
What about those that are OLDER (say, pack title is 9.2.0 but the one in the f/w is 9.6.0). Shouldn't sysUpdater OVERWRITE it anyway and will a version out there do that?
3- DevMenu (never really used this one, I heard it does overwrite but not sure of the consequence)
Do the 2DS and O3DS use the same 9.2 CIA Sysnand install files?
Ah, I see. Reflashing the original 9.2 nand didn't overwrite everything then? I don't understand everything, just glad it works for everything that I need!
@Aroth I went through FBI on my 9.0 EUR N3DS and wrote every title down with version number.
See here: http://pastebin.com/WCAcDd5t
It's in the format: HighID, LowID, Title, VersionNumber
