Alright guys!

Just been having a think about possible 3D on PS Vita and was wondering if you think these could even be used to make it happen???

I know the PS Vita has built in bluetooth, so could Sony add this with a firmware update??, Is that how the screens work??

Just a though!

:D

UPDATE: the glasses in this link use an infared emitter, but if they were the bluetooth ones, could this work??

Probably the only solution would be playing your Vita games on your PS3 with 3D. There's no way to do 3DS style 3D on the Vita since it lacks the proper screen. Any other 3D would just be pretty shit on it.

If you really want 3D on a handheld though, that's why there's a 3DS.

It could be implemented the same way that the PSP3D plugin works by creating a Red/Cyan split. Not ideal but -ish worthwhile.

No what i mean is, do you think, that with a firmware update, sony could make the screen "flick" like the way 3D TVs work. They flick hundreds of times a second, showing one left eye image then one right eye image, and the glasses "flick" in the same pattern so you only see the left eye image in your left eye and the right eye image in your right eye.

So the glasses are already bluetooth and work in this way. The Vita has built in bluetooth, so the only thing missing is the fact the screen need to flicker, if i understand it right. So could this be done!!!

Not possible and I don't want it to happen.

The 3DS can't offer what the Vita can but fanboys still stick to that its better because it has "3D" and I don't want that crap to hit the Vita and its successors.

Dear god I hope they don't put 3D on Vita.
Waste of time and energy.

As Rydian explained, it's not possible anyway, and I don't see them making a revised vita solely for the purpose of adding 3D that will never be properly supported (by devs, I mean).

No. It's not just the flick, it's a physical property of the screens that allows the flick to make a 3D effect.
Explain.
You see, when an optical ray and an optical splitting filter love each other very much...
Cute.

You don't need polarizer filters if you have active shutter glasses. The "flick" is enough. But then again, I have no idea what you were getting at in the first place. You might not have been saying that you need specialized screens in conjunction with active shutter glasses, but since you don't feel like elaborating I can't really tell.

I didn't know you were serious.

Part of the whole pull of 3D on the 3DS is that it's glasses-free, which is a bonus for portability.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming

    But it's a dead end

@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
