On this day, 3 years ago, Pokémon X & Y launched worldwide. The start of the 6th generation or the first gen of 3D model Pokémon on the Nintendo 3DS.

I started with Yellow back around 2000 and once I played that a few times, I promptly dumped Pokemon for Dragon Quest.

3 years is nothing, I was 13 when Pokemon Red and Blue were released here in the UK...

My original GameBoy Pocket still works and I still have my original Pokemon save games from 16 years ago ready to import my Pokemon in to Sun / Moon!

Yeah, I know. I just found a (well, one more, I already own a few) GBA SP + 2 or 3 games for 10€. Really, if I search the whole name, I only get >60€ listings, but if I just search Game Boy I find so many people who don't really know what they're selling and how much they could sell it for.

My first game was Pokemon Blue and I bought it at launch. The battery is long dead, but I still have my game.
I don't feel old, I feel honored to have been there from the start.
