I gotta hand it to Nintendo though. They finally figured out how to combat piracy on one of the biggest 3DS games of the year, and that is one hell of an accomplishment to pull off!

Accomplishment? Hardly, it's standard issue, they've been blocking cards with new firmware releases on the DS for years, Sony fixed their firmware fail, Microsoft fixes the DVD-ROM firmware hack with every revision, needing a new method each time.

I don't know why everyone assumes this game has anti-piracy, I can almost guarantee that this is simply a save protection feature to prevent people from cheating and not something designed to prevent the gateway from working. If this works how we think it does, it's a pretty simple update to gateway to fix.

Terrible anti-piracy measure if that's what they intended it for... Lol.

I'm sure everyone with a gateway is regretting it. $80 for the whole back library + region free, such a terrible deal

Of course that's assuming gateway fail to get it to work and considering they have come through on everything else, I would not bet against them.

No, but when you put a EUR cart in a JAP 3ds, for example. The splash screen shows up inmenu. But you can't actually play the game. Which supposedly never happened before.

Confirmed.

I see the banner and catridge on the 3DS' menu. However when trying to boot it goes to a black screen and says "The Game Card was removed". Then reboots into normal 3DS mode.
