Because I'm a glutton for punishment and love a challenge, I have been trying to Nuzlocke the expanded version of NS. I actually didn't believe the creator; I absolutely believed it would be possible. It's not. Not if you run a legitimate Nuzlocke anyway. The furthest I've made it is Verdant Cavern. I'm new to Pokemon ROM hacks so I'm not sure if this is indicative of the difficulty of many of them but this is brutal. I love it. One day I might make it off Melemele.

That's normal, I don't know where that game logo file is. If you didn't run the "non-English.bat" included in the package, the title screen won't be edited either.
It actually didn't run it at the very beginning before the save screen menu. I really want to play this hack, tho.

Edit: So, I am attempting to follow the instructions on your first page. The issue comes when I put the romfs.bin file in the folder where I put the umbra moon files. I open setup.bat and it says "The system cannot find the file specified." Then, if I try to continue, it says "ERROR: open file umbra moon\\Extracted_ROM\romfs/ failed" repeatedly. If I try to put the romfs.bin into the to the Extracted_ROM folder, then it says "ERROR: the file type is mismatch".

Does anyone have the custom banner, icon, exeFS, etc files for a cia install?

I don't see them in the given files for making the cia.
This mod doesn't make code.bin changes (except for SaltySD in that build), so the CIA toolkit doesn't include a code.bin file. Use your default Sun or Moon code.bin. Banner.bin and icon.bin are located in /Files/exefs.

I see now. I was using the saltyFW distributions not the toolkit. Only if I could read.

so after several painful tries i managed to get the right tools so i extracted my decrypted moon rom and succesfully added the 1.4 umbra moon files and managed to rebuild it and it is working with citra BUT i also tried to either randomize umbra moon using pk3ds with random wild poke, starters, trainer poke, but when i try to do this citra gives an "unknown error" when i try to launch it. so my question is why doesnt randomizing with pk3ds work but the umbra moon 1.4 worked just fine what am i doing wrong?

Hey, I was wondering if, after you've played the game and decide you are really done with it, you could restore de cartridge back to the original game. If so, how?

SuMo has been updated to 1.2. I don't wanna update till Dio says something about the compatibility.
1.2 will break the SaltySD install, and you shouldn't update the game if you're using a CIA or 3DS build anyway. Testing now to see if 1.2 breaks shop.cro. I'll probably just remove the SaltySD code.bin from the next release since Luma3DS 7.0+ works fine without it.

I've been enjoying Theta Emerald Ex, opening my world to Pokemon romhacks. I don't know if this was answered, but is Battle Tree altered in any way? I like the idea of it not having a banlist, the trainers bring whatever while the player does the same. Whether these have it or not, I do want to try this out.

These hacks don't have an altered Battle Tree. I recommend waiting until tomorrow to play, since I'm currently working on getting 1.5 ready, which will allow compatibility with Version 1.2 of Sun and Moon.

Version 1.5 is up.
If you're using the Drag & Drop (formerly SaltySD) package, you need to delete the following files/folders from your SD card to use Version 1.5:
  • SD:\luma\titles\0004000000164800
  • SD:\luma\titles\0004000000175E00
  • SD:\luma\code_sections\0004000000164800.bin
  • SD:\luma\code_sections\0004000000175E00.bin
  • SD:\SaltySD\Nova_Sun
  • SD:\SaltySD\Umbra_Moon
You also need to update Luma3DS if you aren't on Version 7.0 or higher.

Version 1.5 is compatible with (and requires) Sun & Moon Version 1.2, NS/UM 1.4 are not compatible with Sun & Moon Version 1.2.

You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version?
