you must reverse them so that 2 is 3 and 3 is 2 for each file in the a\0\8 folder in the saltysd files
This is wrong. Sun and Moon are different, 2 is Sun encounters and 3 is Moon encounters. The other one is a placeholder. So in Sun you'll have a 300+MB 2 file and a 0kb 3 file.

You are right I got them reversed but in the Extracted_Rom folder they are reversed 3 is sun and 2 is moon .... I checked it , and as I am copying from the Extracted_Rom folder to the saltySD folder I have to reverse them to 2 for sun and 3 for moon .... rcamp48

Thanks. But when ever I make edits to the encounter tables , then close the program, the edits don't save. What did you use to make the edits?

If pokemon have a call rate of zero in pk3ds, will they still call things if the encounter tables have stuff for them to call in? (i.e. Every pokemon not normally found in alola) Or if I make one change to one pokemons call rate will I have to change all of them so they keep calling in stuff?

Call rate is a parameter set per Pokémon in the "Personal Stats" file. Nova Sun and Umbra Moon (as of version 1.1, update if you haven't already to 1.4) already have custom call rates for every Pokémon species (including legendaries for randomized playthroughs). No Pokémon in Nova Sun and Umbra Moon have a zero call rate, most Pokémon have a 6 which is the same call rate as Munchlax in vanilla Sun/Moon.

First of all, this is a brilliant hack. I'm absolutely loving it so far. Thank you for your amazing work, Dio!

Now for the question that I've been having. I've done some searching and I think this hasn't been discussed yet, so I'm just gonna ask away.
Would it be possible to set chances for hidden abilities in SOS battles a little higher in the expanded build? We can't really trade very well online with this build, so it would be nice to still get a decent shot at hidden abilites. I've just spent 3 hours looking for that Speed Boost Blaziken, but eventually gave up. Or do you guys think that would make things too easy?

Unfortunately, this isn't a parameter I can edit. Otherwise I'd have "un-hidden" abilities across the board (except on the Island Scan species of course)

I see. Well, I guess that makes sense. Thanks for the answer! And please keep up your great work, with your hacks the games finally feel the way they should feel to me. :D

My writeup on the recent save-editing-related bans in Sun and Moon. Conclusion is:
  • Don't set up Game Sync in Nova Sun or Umbra Moon or any other ROM hack.
  • If you do use Game Sync in Nova Sun or Umbra Moon, make sure you never sync with unreleased Mega Stones or absurdly high quantities of rare items like Sacred Ash or Lure Ball.
  • If you're using Nova Sun and Umbra Moon to speed up breeding, grinding, etc. on your main save file (which has Game Sync set up), don't Game Sync while you're running the modifications.
  • Non-Game Sync online features remain safe. This includes Wonder Trade, battling/trading friends, and unranked Battle Spot. Anything you can do without making a Game Sync ID on the Global Link website.
  • If you get banned from Game Sync using Nova Sun and Umbra Moon, and you have a backup of your original Sun/Moon save, that backup (or a new save file) will not be banned from Game Sync.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, i only have like 1 or 2 mb sec

Did you feed the hamster in your internet router? It prob died and is running slow now.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I bet @AncientBoi has some hamsters hidden somewhere tho....

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

also @BigOnYa im making some progress on my gdevelop project, implemented various mechanics

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

@BigOnYa, although the bullets are a bit buggy

Not to mention this would be a massive pain to pirate

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

im taking a break for today anyway

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
