Why? Raqib has already backed out cause apparently if he thinks if he's not the first and only to translate there's no point in doing it. Kazo's still going and I'll use his once it's completed probably. Until then I might as well use the best available.

IMO, Kazo's current new patch is the best available, so you're better off using that that two outdated patches merged.

You know what, it's not yours, or anybody else besides the creators' choice weather or not the patches get merged. Both sides have said they do not want to work with each other. Nobody has the right to go against that and merge them, even if they give credit. It is ultimately like I said before, a slap in the face. I just can't believe you people screwed this up again. I was here a year ago when Rykin stopped his patch because of assholes on GBATemp. Why can't you people just be grateful and stop ruining things for everybody else.

It's only Nintendo's choice when the games get translated, yet that doesn't stop anyone. These patches are free to the community, and if someone wants to merge them to help everyone out as a whole, then more power to him. If someone wants to stop because they can't handle the fact someone is trying to help everyone out here, then good riddance.

No, there is a clear difference between taking a patch and merging it WITH the consent of the person who made the patch/translation and doing it just because you want to. If there is acceptance or even indifference by part of the author, then by all means do it.

However, sticking your noses in when there is CLEARLY a request from BOTH authors about not merging the patch (and this is done publicly and politely, not some underground disclaimer) is just going against their rights as creators. Even if it's free, you do NOT have the right to take their patches and merge it, distributing them to the community.

Of course you can do that at home and for your OWN use only, they can't plea you to do otherwise if it's for private use only, but doing so and then posting full of pride that you've merged both patches, that is just damn plain wrong. Especially on their boards.

Take an example: you can't host Yasu's software anywhere else, because HE asked not to. Can you do this for a friend? Well, you shouldn't, but heck yeah if you want. He's not gonna come to your home and bitch-slap you for doing so. However, if you do such publicly on GBATemp you will get your post edited in a flash.

Get the extent of your freedom within boundaries here on GBATemp, or risk losing translators because you've failed to comprehend how to respect people.

the cheats do work, im using a dstt, the cheat database, and soul silver patched with 4.5 and cheats work.

Thats bullshit and you know it. You think he put in his time to combine the patches out of spite over, you know, actually making it convenient for everyone playing the (J) HGSS as a whole?

All he did was put the patch together to make it easier for everyone to play; Raqib bitched and now his patch is over.
