Gen 6 and earlier games have all maps designed on a grid of squares that are the possible positions for your character. In Gen 6, you can move outside of the grid by using the Circle Pad, and along the grid by using the directional pad. For the RNG to work properly, you apparently have to be in a grid-locked position, that is, take a few steps with the directional pad so that you are in one of the squares, and not between them.Sorry if I Sound dumb, but I still don't understand what "the grid" is
