If you thought you'd seen the last of the quirky PlayStation rhythm games like Vib-Ribbon and PaRappa the Rapper, prepare yourselves, because developer Masaya Matsuura and Osu! Tatake! Ouendan! and Gitaroo Man creator, Keiichi Yano will be collaborating to create a brand new rhythm game IP. Tenatively titled Project Rap Rabbit, there's not much information to go off of yet, besides that it will be an action-rhythm game.

Looking promising so far, but the quality of the music and the gameplay mechanics are always key to the success of these games.
    Definitely my kind of quirky.

Holy fuck, Gitaroo Man. Painfully underrated game for PS2. Fond memories with it.

Yeah - I need to pick up a copy of that one again.

I'd say it's pretty unlikely considering the lacklustre reviews the remastered version has received.

Something happened with the voice actor for parappa that left him on bad terms with sony last time i checked so i doubt a parappa the rapper 3 will happen unless they can find a new voice actor that sounds similar to the original. Would like to see a jammer lammy 2 though.

Hopefully the game gets an update patch to fix the issues it has.

Last time (if i remember) the voice actor for parappa dissed the game out on Twitter. :/ I guess jammer lammy 2 would work. But without parappa..

Normally jammer lammy has nothing to do with parappa anyways from what i remember so if it did happen they could probably say something like parappa was on vacation with his girlfriend during the events of jammer lammy 2 but she could probably interact with his friends.

    You Gotta Belieeeeeeeeeve!!!!

Please stop calling them 'Bust A Groove' ...they're 'Bust A Move'! :ha:
...and 'Bust a Move' is 'Puzzle Bobble', before anyone mentions it!

it's so strange--parappa 2 is currently available as a ps2 classic (goes on sale for like $4) and is a much better game overall.

that said, this news makes me very happy.

Now, if we could just get another Jet Grind Radio, I'd have those TPS reports in by Friday.

Can someone even tell me if parappa the rapper is a fun game "TO PLAY" Yes i can understand is a rhythm game, i can understand that is popular cause of the music, songs and i guess story. But is about a dog in love with a flower, and i won't mention about the game being all about paper cause there is already paper mario and yoshi story and kirby yarn... so there is a fair share of awkward graphics for games.

But is playing it fun? All 6 stages? I want honesty here.

    @Sonic Angel Knight

It's funny, if nothing else. When you're doing good, the game responds with everything vibing on your rhyming; if you're wack, the game responds by pretty much shaming you with bored, uninterested responses.

It was great for the time it came out.

You could play Space Channel 5.

Parappa 1 is fun but the sync is way out compared to Lammy and Parappa 2, there are times where you'll follow the commands perfectly and be told you did it wrong and times you do it wrong and be told you did it right. Pretty sure this issue was still present in the remaster but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Its about one of the best rhythm games near the Bemani series. (Bemani series as in Dance Dance Revolution, Beatmania, Pop n' Music, etc.)
Parappa and Guitaroo man are must play rhythm games next to rhythm heaven.

Parappa the Rapper is a 'must play' for anyone that likes rhythm games. Yes, it's a bit dated, but it's fun, cute, and very funny.
I know that the gameplay isn't quite the standard 'rhythm game formula', but everyone forgets Vib Ribbon - another great game released in the wake of Parappa. Also kind of unique, as you could put in your own music cd's and the game would basically create new levels to your own music.
...plus the Vib Ribbon music itself is awesome.
