apparently only the mystery voice talking to link though will be voice acting so you will still have to read :P
I'm fine with that. It's progress. Plus there's still room for them to hire voice actors for the rest of the characters before release, if they actually decide to listen to the fans this time around

the demo didnt show any npcs or villages. Im sure itll have miniquests like bring someone a baked apple for a heart piece or whatever. but what seperates Zelda from any other game of this genre its entering now is that zelda is a very clever game that makes you think and do puzzles too

Has is that any different from games that have puzzles in them?
Knowing nintendo the puzzle difficulty meter will be slid into the negative values of "babies first puzzle" and locked there offering no challenge to anyone older then 5 years old.

Having shitty controls and a glitchy physics engine does not constitute raising the "difficulty meter." Even Kirby Planet Robobot had three IC cubes that I was banging my head trying to figure out how to get until I finally saw what I was missing.

That's definitely part of it. There's also that there's no set order to do anything in, it's basically your own initiative to get things done whenever you feel like it

Think of an inverse Majora's Mask lol
well that sucks, i feel whenever your free to go/do anything in any order difficulty and gradual development goes down the s**tter, hopefully they improve the system over what was used in ALBW as while it was a fun game all the temples were way too easy for my liking.....it also kinda ironically takes all the exploration out as they basically cannot lock anywhere off except very small specific areas, some of the fun/intrigue in zelda games is finally getting X and realizing that that thing you seen 4 temples ago is now passable and the rush of heading down there to go explore, idk hopefully they can strike a nice balance, but im now kinda worried it will end up in skyrim style territory with loosely random generated side quests to bulk up gameplay i.e deliver egg here, find lost man in woods, stop bandits etc etc

I think that while you're still technically able to go anywhere, the developers will probably still lightly prod you to go in a certain direction. For instance, look at the opening scene in the demo; while you COULD just take a leap of faith and go anywhere on the map, your eyes are drawn to the ruins of the Temple of Time, which indirectly leads you to the Old Man on the way

Lets stop pretending loz being labelled as an rpg, its not

anyway I was going to to suggest silent hill series puzzles, the puzzle difficulty scales with chosen game difficulty giving different experience and challenge for each one

resident evil had a few "ok-ish" puzzles, I would really mention that as most were just poorly designed and too easy

then you have huge open world games which are nothing but puzzles like "the talos principle" and "the witness"

LOLOLOL, The legend of Zelda is THE first rpg made my friend... ROLE PLAYING GAME...
You ARE link in TLOZ, isnt that what it means... somewhere along the years rpg has somehow been classified into being viewed as a strategy/levels/numbers game.

Final Fantasy 1+2, yea sure your the main character, final fantasy after that should be labeled story/strategy/turn base because cloud is cloud squall is squall tidus is tidus and vaan is clearly gay.

Elder Scrolls, Fallout, you assume the role of the protaganist so those are rpgs.

you can make the case that this zelda isnt an RPG anymore because it seems that the default name is LINK based off the voice acting but all the other games give you the option of chosing your characters name

Rpg games predate loz by over 10 years, so it wasnt the first
It lacks any type of levels or experience points and stat upgrades past getiing an extra heart or more magic
Games like dragon quest properly defined the genre, heck loz2 is really the only one that can be considered an rpg out of all of them

...This has been bugging me for a while. Is it just me, or does this Link look a lot like Drew Barrymore?
