This is weird. COOKING KIT has a higher string length than RICE BALL.
It should be other way around.

Try and write instead of RICE BALL ONIGIRI and tell me if the blackscreen still occurs.
If not then I probably know why the black screens occur...
give me a sec

edit - blackscreen did not show but its plain completely blank
if i do it backward COOKING KIT + RICE BALL ONIGIRI
Bam blackscreen

Nearly with 70%+ of the items i'm getting a blackscreen.
Haven't shorten the names and i carefully edited the .pac file so that i didn't overwrote anything.

I really don't know where the problem is.
Not every item is translated yet and no item describtion right now, but i think that is not the problem...

I don't know why, but even with my "old" translation file i am now getting massiv blackscreens which i don't get the last days.

Oh man. :D

still blackscreen
by doing ONIGIRI+COOKING KIT
no blackscreen
COOKING KIT+ONIGIRI
Ok let us try something very easy.
Take a clean version of the game, nothing translated, and then lets translate ONLY Onigiri and Cooking Set.
Synthesis. See if you still get the black screen.

I don't have a PSP Battery right now, can't test anything on a PSP.lol

Just a theory, it's about coding.

logical assumption:

If we translate those two items and the blackscreen still occurs, then whatever is causing the blackscreen on the other items,
has to be the same reason it is causing on those two.

By investigating only two items we can pinpoint down the cause of the problem faster.

It could be lots of stuff too, PSP trying to create a graphic offscreen / bad pointer adress, anything you can think of

Ok I will investigate this tomorrow myself. My extractor is practically finished, maybe I can figure out why this is happening then.

Bout your extractor... are you going to share it? Can I try it if it's done...

Also, it would be great if someone could make a GUI TEXT/ITEM editor (load-edit-save common_text.pac or common_items.pac).

Anybody here knows a synthesis that uses Riceball (Onigiri) as component? What will I pair with Onigiri to produce something? I'm checking it if will make a BLACKSCREEn on my work.
