So what's involved with the DSiWareHax? Will I be able to do that with the 9.7.0-0E firmware?

That and more can simply be answered by reading the guide, in case you can't find it the answer is no.
You have the do a system transfer between the modded and unmodded systems, that requires latest fw I.e 11.4

so whats speaking against getting OOT? its a 20 buck game from the players choice version if you get it new and you got hacked 3ds' to install oot hax, right?
or am i misunderstanding something?
i know that means spending money, but you can always resell/trade it in later to minimize costs

If it's not mentioned in the guide, it's either not viable, or has significant risks with it. Go with what the guide says. If the guide says you need a game, then you need a game.

Just purchase OoT and return it after you finish the guide. It'll only take a few hours to finish the guide.

I only skimmed the other posts, so excuse me if I'm repeating with others have said. Here are all of your options, in order of best to worst:

• Stay on 9.7 and find an alternative entrypoint using this guide. Since you apparently have another 3DS with CFW, you can use the secondary exploits with ease. This means any of these should work as long as you have the game and it's compatible with O3DS 9.7.
• Update to 11.4 and use the DSiWare method. It will require that both systems are on 11.4. It will also require that you buy a cheap DSiWare game on the CFW system, and it will require you perform system transfer.
• Update to 11.4 and use the hardmod method. It will require soldering.
• Stay on 9.7. Wait for ntrboothax to be released. It will require a compatible DS flashcart that works with ntrboothax.

The cart doesn't have to work on 11.4. The whitelist is not applied to the bootrom afaik.

Compatible as in compatible with ntrboothax. It's already been stated that not every cart will support this.

I made a mistake in my earlier post and put ntrboothax under an "update to 11.4" copy/paste for no reason. I fixed it.

Sorry I havn't replied until now but I was away, fortunatly, while I was away I managed to get another old 3DS and a copy of OOT3D for £35 so managed to softmod the one I wanted to do pretty easily.

So now I have 3 3DS's all softmodded.

How do I check what bootstrap is on the one I've just picked up?

It's on 11.2 but I'm not sure if its A9LH or BS9.

So now I have 3 3DS's all softmodded.

What's on the root of the SD card: boot.firm, or arm9loaderhax.bin? If it's boot.firm, then you have B9S installed. If it's arm9loaderhax.bin, then you have A9LH installed.

Didn't you hear? Riot said the UK pound is practically worthless now, like the Mexican peso. There currency is so worthless Riot had to raise the price for digital currency. I'd imagine all physical items went up in price a year ago when the deflation started.

I think it was a steal personally.

What's on the root of the SD card: boot.firm, or arm9loaderhax.bin? If it's boot.firm, then you have B9S installed. If it's arm9loaderhax.bin, then you have A9LH installed.

So if it has boot.firm on the root of the sd card and not arm9loaderhax.bin I can update it via the system update?

As long as you have either B9S or A9LH installed with Luma3DS, you can safely update via the system settings.

Have you looked at the list of ALL homebrew entry points? If so, Have you thought about using those to get access on 11.4? If you by any chance have a Pokemon Sun/Moon copy you could use those to update to a version where you can run SafeA9LH installer, then you can use that to upgrade into Boot9.

All 3 are already softmodded and 2 have been updated to 11.4 but I only did two personally so I wasn't sure what the 3rd was on (A9LH or B9) so I just wanted to know if there was a way to check.

It has boot.firm on the root of the SD card and I can boot to godmode9 and luma is on the latest version.

So I'm guessing I should just make a nand backup and then I'm safe to do a system update or is there anything else I should check or do first?
