I installed luma3DS on my o3DS, following all the steps on 3ds.guide and the console seemed to work pretty well for about 4 days, but i turned my o3DS on today, and it kept freezing a couple of seconds into it, with black screens when going on sleep mode. There was also some icons that weren't appearing (but some game backups from the SD card were appearing for example).

At first, i thought it could be something with custom themes, so i deleted a folder on extdata that i read somewhere, but nothing happened. I tried powering the o3DS on without the SD card, and it kept freezing all the same. I restored a emunand backup on hourglass, keeping ahl9, but it still kept doing the same thing, but now i just can't reach the home screen, with or without the SD card. The blue light just lights up for a few seconds and it just turns on. I can still open hourglass and stay there.

Is this o3DS bricked or is there something i could do?

Edit: The system doesn't boot to the home menu anymore, just black screens, blue LED on. Can still access hourglass and Luma3DS config.

Did you restore your emunand backup to sysnand or emunand? Can you access either?

Just out of curiosity, do you have an emunand partition on your sd card? Like, did you ever make one?

A lot of people don't have emunands or emunand partitions.

So you ctr transferred to 9.2 and the problem persists? Try booting your 3ds with an sd card that only contains arm9loaderhax.bin (and nothing else) on the root.

I deleted everything from the SD card, inserted the arm9loaderhax.bin on the root of the card, turned the 3DS on and it gave me the Luma3Ds config. I changed the options again like the guide says and pressed start but still, only black screen with the blue LED on.

I don't want to sound the alarm or anything...but I just starting having the same problem. My daughter's o3ds XL just starting doing this. I've had a9/Luma installed for months and today it will not boot. I push power button and blue led comes on for 5-6 seconds (sometimes shorter) and then powers off. (same with sd out) When it last longer holding select I can see luma settings before it shuts off.

Before I noticed this thread and the other one I just figured hardware failure. It's been working perfect for months. Strange....

also, my daughter is 13 so she's knows not to update, delete, or anything that would corrupt files. all she does is play games.

If you have a NAND backup, try restoring it to an EMUNAND and try booting from it. Just to check if the 3DS NAND partition has been corrupted or not.

Could be the SD-Card...

You said "I deleted everything from the SD card, inserted ..", so it is still the same card. To prove that the card is not faulty, you should try another card (just with the arm9loaderhax.bin in the root).

regards,
Kirky

I just tried another SD card, inserted the arm9loaderhax.bin on the root, turned on the 3DS, the Luma3DS config appeared, pressed start to reboot but still black screens. I restarted again and still the same thing as always. I'm starting to think it might be a hardware failure.

Bump(Not sure if its too early), I'm still having the same problem. I've tried some other things I've heard on the forum (like renaming arm9loaderhax.bin to arm9loaderhax_si.bin, etc) but nothing seemed to work. I just turn on the system, black screens, blue LED stays on with SD card, can access hourglass and Luma3Ds config.

I'd appreciate some help.

I noticed your thread, but in my case, i can't even reach the home menu. Not sure if they're related or not.

There are a few hardware faults that will cause this. One that I know of for sure is a faulty wifi card.

Have you tried turning the wifi off before turning on the console? It probably won't do anything but it's worth a shot.
