A free alternative to Action Replay cheating devices for Nintendo DS games, Nitrohax, has been released in CIA format to work on the Nintendo 3DS. Download below, and this video made by @Apache Thunder and recorded by @Sasori will show it off!

Don't forget, that you currently need dev Luma3DS 6.0 or newer CFW and patched TwlBg.cxi before you can use this. So if you get the fat init failed error you don't patched dev launcher yet. More on that here:

And some of us want to use our carts with Action Replay support.
Once hybrid cards and other specific cart types work, it'll be a lot better than an R4 (Good R4s with save patches for 8MB chip games cost more than you think, and I'd like to be able to use the Xtransceiver over Wiimmfi without buying a Cyclo iEvolution ty.)

If you have a flashcard, this function is completely useless. I don't understand why so many are excited for this. If it's not action replay for .CIAs or physical 3DS games I don't see how it changes anything.

This just seems to be a step back for the homebrew community.

Want to use cheats on a game you own physically on your own save file using a flashcart? You'll have to:
-Dump (or download) the ROM
-Dump the save
You'll have to do that for EACH INDIVIDUAL GAME.
-Move that stuff onto your flashcart
-Insert that whenever you need to play that game with cheats

Want to use cheats on a game you own physically on your own save file using Nitrohax? You'll have to:
-Set up Nitrohax for the first time
That's it.

As cool as those things would be, this doesn't "bring the community back".

I'd rather play using my own cart rather than an Action Replay or an R4 card; it's just more pleasant to me because it's a legitimate cartridge. And Datel no longer sell AR(3)DS(i) :/

Pushed the latest build of NitroHax:

This build resolves the last outstanding card init issue. It will now wait and ask you to insert a cartridge if you boot with no cartridge inserted. It no longer matters when you insert the game. It will wait if it detects that you booted with no cartridge and will continue as normal if you booted with one already inserted.

I think I found a bug of Nitrohax, Only if my pokemon pearl is inserted ,it would boot.
If it is not inserted at first, it will be stuck at the white screen

I don't have heartgold but I do know there are some compatibility issues; it's most likely because it's a Pokemon IR game (other IR games have no issues...)

well is with the twl patcher because when ever the twl.bgs in the folder it gets a black screen after loading save i tried it on 2 3ds and it did not work so it seems to be a compatibility issue

My walmart still has some in stock , in fact i have like 4 laying around as i keep having to replace them

The pokemon games are going to be hit and miss with NitroHax. NitroHax had compatibility issues with inferred carts last I heard and I think the gen4/5 carts use that. (gen 5 pokemon games are all TWL carts which don't work at all with NitroHax right now)

It seems that my version of Mario Kart DS - an early European version - doesn't boot at all in enhanced nitro. I'll check some more later.

i have some issues getting some cheats to work on this in the video it shows the guy using the giant character cheat in super mario 64 ds when i try to use this cheat the game does not boot. Other cheats like the moon jump work though i also cannot get the change character cheat to work it and freezes the game. I also cannot get the wifi patch cheat to work on pokemon diamond i get connection issues but i i do connection test with out the dns or patch it says connection sucessful but i cannot play online with that because the wifi servers are gone when i use the cheat and dns to patch custom servers i get conection issues.
