So I installed Nintendont on my Wii U yesterday following this
video guide (because I'm a noob, so please bear with me), and I'm having some issues, unfortunately. I followed the tutorial to a tee, backed everything up, installed cIOS 56 through 58 (d2x-v10-beta53). So the first problem I faced was when I tried to launch USB Loader GX. I already had my HDD for Wii and GC backups connected (it's in an HDD enclosure with a power switch that was plugged into the upper USB port on the back of the console), but the loader just hanged at "Initialising USB device." Only thing I could do was unplug my Wii U from the wall. So I did a quick Google search and found
this video does, where the guy has his hard drive disconnected before launching USB Loader GX, and connects it when the loader starts looking for a drive and initiates a countdown. This does the trick, but it's really annoying. Any ideas what may be causing this?
Anyway, USB Loader GX launches, I can't run GC backups from there directly, because it says it needs a .dol file in the same directory as the game. I going to settings and changing the path for GC games from SD:/games to USB1:/games, but then it gives me an error where it says the game has to be on an SD card and doesn't let me change the path to my external hard drive. Weird. So I tried launching HBC from within USB Loader GX, going to Nintendont from there and launching the game, which worked. But then the game (Super Mario Sunshine) was displayed in a 4:3 aspect ratio, so I tried to exit Nintendont by pressing R+Z+B+Down (D-pad) on my GC controller, but that did nothing. Weirdly enough, the button combination for restarting the game (R+Z+Start) worked just fine... I had to turn off my Wii U, disconnect my HDD, turn the console on, launch USB Loader GX, wait for the countdown, connect my hard drive, launch Nintendont, go to settings, and look for a setting that would let me change the aspect ratio. So annoying. Does anyone know what may be causing all these issues? Having to disconnect my main Wii U hard drive every time I want to play GC backups is annoying enough, but also going through all these steps is asking too much. Thanks!
