@hmsong do vampire knight DS please xD i'll really grateful if there's a translation for that game
I can't speak for the rest of the team, of course, but I don't think I'll, personally, be taking requests for future projects.
I've joked about this before, but I seriously think this may be my first and final ROM translation. I had no idea what I was getting in to, and at times I have let this take over my life in ways that I probably shouldn't have. I owe my friends, family, and most importantly my husband (THE most patient man in the history of all mankind, I assure you) some time back after their years of support, and I think they might make me sign a blood pact to never do something this big again.
Manga is much easier because it is episodic, and the stuff I work on is not in huge demand so a delay or an early release doesn't really get much attention. Very accomodating. I find the community here is very supportive, but that there are also pressures from myself and others to finish faster and/or to stop being a perfectionist and just release it already (which anyone on the project knows is not what is slowing us down, we just have a desire to do a good job of this especially if it is the only *this* that some of us will ever do).
There are definitely games I have played in Japanese and loved, and would like to see other people enjoy in English, but at the same time there are still so many games in Japanese (and books, and manga, and movies) that I would love to indulge in, myself. I think once this project is done, other than my ongoing manga series, I will probably avoid doing creative work like this and instead take some time to enjoy just consuming the creative work that others have put out in the world. I might come back to ROM translations eventually, but it would require the memories of how much work this has been to fade a bit - not just for me, but for the people around me that put up with my late nights translating and weekends blowing off social events, as well.
As for the project status, we are working some kinks out, retesting recently fixed bugs, and rechecking things just to make sure we've caught most of the issues. We've got a couple big ones to go, but we know what we need to do. Our playtesters are full of energy and enthusiasm, and the team is chugging along getting stuff done.
I hope everyone is having fun with Ni No Kuni 2! I took a bit of a break from the ROM project this past weekend while I was sick with a headcold and just managed to make it to the docks in Hydropolis in Ni No Kuni 2. Maybe I'll even play the first part of the city in a week or two! (>_<)
Happy spring to all, I hope you're all doing well out there in the world!
