Upon hearing the news of the release, really wanting to play with this exploit finally got me motivated to buy a Switch. First I went to the local GameStop, it was runing 3.0.1.. When I returned it I just went with the honesty route and the manager was cool about it, but he said that every Switch in stock had arrived together on Friday (two other stores in the area said the same.) Afterwards I went to Target and asked for the one furthest to the back of the case, and luckily this one is on 3.0.0. If that failed I was planning to buy one of those replacement screens and buy everything else individually, thankfully I didn't have to waste all of that money.

If you want a 3.0.0, get it now.

GameStop takes things a step further, by updating the console, then initializing it like it hasn't been touched. They're scumbags and always update consoles before selling them.

How does protecting their business, ie selling games, make them scumbags? Let's be real here, the majority of people want the switch to be hacked for piracy which would hurt gamestop.

it's already been established that piracy boosts game sales the problem is they are opening a sealed product touching it then selling it new when it is now used, in some states this is illegal.

True, but Amazon and digital sales hurt them worse, because either option is better than physically walking into a Gamestop or paying their ridiculous online shipping fees with slow shipping speed regardless.

Are you guys sure about that GameStop updating consoles thing?
It doesn't sound true it's not like they have extra TV's the ones near me don't even have WiFi like at all so the employees don't play on their phones.
I know they update all used consoles whenever they inspect them but that is done off site around here and I assume everywhere.
I hate GameStop as much as the next guy and would never buy anything there the few exclusive releases they get I just have to ignore but that seems way over the top especially with how hard it is to get consoles back in their original boxes looking untouched. None of the current gen consoles even have backup loaders yet and we don't know for sure if they ever will.

Not if the piracy required private cart dumps. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Agreed. This is asinine. During peak times they get dozens of these things and would have to spend hours of labor manually updating each one when they should be selling them. No business would operate like that. It adds no value at all. Further, no customer would want a store to open the product they are paying 300 bucks for to do anything to it at all. How many consoles were sold by Gamestop in the last year? Say it was 1/2 a million switches. How long would it take to update all of them, 8 minutes? Maybe they could cut that down if they had several TVs to 5 minutes. So it would cost 2.5 million minutes in labor. At 8 bucks an hour that would cost GS $333k across the stores. What kind of moron of a manager would agree to that. Add in the PS4s and XBOs and it will cost over 1 mil per year. It is not happening.

It is likely that they update and wipe all used systems and somehow this led to the rumor that they do this for all new ones too.

Yeah, we get one from Target last week and it was on 3.0.0. Yeah, get it now while it's time before it is too late.

I would like a Predator game "Kill Team" it takes place in the Jungle of the first movie, your team is sent to hunt the predator, using current tech drones and a trained team. Set traps use strategy to hunt and trap or kill the predator.

I went today and looked at a motorcycle someone was selling. I get there and the battery on it was dead, so the guy grabbed a battery charger and hooked it up. He plugged it into the wall, and the motorcycle sparked and started smoking. Come to find out the bike uses a 6 volt battery and the guy had the charger set to 12v. I said sorry to the dude and walked away. I felt bad for him tho.
