Lol, Mage4ever and I were attempting to use the AKAIO guide you had to make one for the WoodR4, but there isn't much of a point now xD.

Heh. I'll just keep mine as an FAQ.
I guess for the people that have issues after following this guide.

will it work on my r4irts from r4rts.cn?
Why would you want WoodR4 on a R4iRTS anyways...that card is still being supported by the M3 team...

QUOTE(omegaultima @ May 25 2010, 10:44 PM) How's is working out for you guys?
Worth the switch? Or should I stick to YSMenu for now?
Its worth the switch (its only a couple second drag-&-drop), though I still keep my YSMenu there just in case there is ever a homebrew problem.

Do you think they will release Wood as an .nds file? I am asking because then I can use wood on other flash carts as a secondary OS.

You can use r4crypt to build it into a .nds file.

This is a Wood R4 1.07 build as an NDS file http://rapidshare.com/files/391922712/wood_r4_v1.07.rar can't say i've tried it as I can't be bothered switching wood to something else to find out. If AW or YWG have a problem with that upload, let me know and i'll remove it.

Could you add in a section on how to make YSmenu an executable?
I could, but I haven't actually used YSmenu before lol. I only brought the R4 because I was curious about Wood and to write the guide.

I definately need to add a moonshell section though.

The problem is Costello has disabled the anchors, so if the guide gets to big it will be a pain to navigate.

should i help make a tutorial for you tk_saturn?
That's actually funny lol, if that was meant in a humourous way.

If you think I need a to add a YSMenu section then I could, I guess I was just trying to keep it simple for the n00bs.

I also really need to add a 3-in-1 section, but I don't have a 3-in-1. It's hard to justify spending $20 on one so I can do the guide.

I still need to some more images for the latter half of the guide first.

Rawrs, I think the moonshell2 section should be in the moonshell2 threads stickied in the Homebrew section since that is a fair bit more generalized (the exact same thing as what is done with AKAIO...and maybe ysmenu to an extent).

You're right, there shouldn't be any difference between MoonShell with Wood and MoonShell with any of the other firmwares.

I'll probably just add a quick section so noobs know they can use it to playback media files and then add a link to a more indepth guide already present on here.

Given the number of in depth YSMenu guides on here, I probably just add links to a couple of the YSmenu threads.

Can someone clarify what the last instruction of step 4 means?

"Enter the wood_r4_v1.XX directory, delete _DS_MENU.DAT and r4crypt.exe, now copy the entire contents of the directory to your MicroSD card."

where do you enter the wood_r4_v1.XX directory? where do you delete the ds menu.DAT?
