Wrong. ChickHen R1, works on 5.00 to get onto 5.00 M33.

Would it not be easier to just go ahead and install the GEN stuff?

ChickHen works on code execution in 5.03 OFW to exploit the alpha channel in tiff images. It does NOT work on 5.00 and as such ChickHen for 5.00 doesn't exist. I've linked to it's creators dev site above (Davee) so you can get it straight from the source.

But i know i used chickhen on 5.00 to get onto 5.00M33-6.

Nothing will happen. I just don't know why you shouldn't update to 5.03 and install GEN. Nothing wrong with that in my eyes.

My money is on the link above turning out to be an installer...essentially you've just added an additional flash change to your CFW installation. ChickHen is erratic enough anyway...trying to get it working on a firmware which doesn't support it would be madness!

This is the bit I'm not 100% on. I THINK you can then install 5.50GEN-D, then install GEN-D2. If not then it has to be 5.03GEN-A, then 5.03GEN-B.

Open: 01 Sony 5.03 OFW Update
Put the folder: UPDATE and its contents (EBOOT.PBP) to your GAME folder on your MEMSTICK.

Before going any further:
Make sure your battery is atleast 75% tho 100% is better!!
Also connect power if possible.

Install the official Sony 5.03 update from yor PSP and when done setup your settings.

Now format the MEMSTiCk using your PSP.

Look at folder: 02 Hellcat 5.00-4 M33 CFW + ChickHEN
Phat ChickHEN CFW
Slim ChickHEN CFW

Depending on your PSP model (100x or 200x) you will OPEN THE FOLDER of the model you have.
And copy Folder: PSP and File: h.bin in it to the ROOT of you MEMSTICK!!
If it asks to overwrite any files press - yes to all.

Now lets run ChickHEN to have a homebrew enabled environment. In your PSP go to photo then click the ChickHEN photo and wait. If the PSP jams, please retry. If it flashes colours and reboots you have loaded ChicKHEN. Check your system info to be sure it say’s 5.03 ChickHEN R2.

Warning make sure you only try this on a PSP that will accept PSP Custom Firmware flashing (Custom IPL) otherwise you will brick your PSP!!! As said before PSP-3000’s will not take CFW.

On your PC open the picture: hackablepsps-1.png - in folder: 03 Documents

Here is a list of hackable PSP motherboards.

Now take your PSP and run: PSPident from it.
It should take a bit and it shall show you your mother board type.
MAKE SURE YOUR PSP IS IN THIS LIST SAYING IT TAKES CFW ELSE DO NOT GO ON!!

If so wait for the program to end loading and press X to exit PSPident.

Run Hellcat 1.50 from your PSP.
Click: AGREE, now take me to the program! (second option)
Click: Install M33 CFW (second option)
Now flashing is done and wait for it to finish.

After its done your PSP should have 5.00-4 M33.

This thread is going from bad to worse. Evilmaster they're talking about using the 5.03 Hen to avoid the purchase of a Pandora or a hardmod NOT a temporary firmware.

deanxxczx - you're wrong. Chickhen only runs off 5.03. You simply misremember.

spinal_cord - Update to 5.03 OFW, get Davee's ChickHen R2 from the site i linked to back on the first page (his devsite). Also grab Hellcats' recovery flasher and the 5.00 OFW eboot. Follow the instructions in the readme's.

I'm gunna stop this argument because theirs no point of it getting locked.
I don't care if i'm right, or if i'm wrong.

But if you go onto 5.03, how can you go onto 5.00 M33? Downgrading is only with pandora.
and i'm pretty sure about being on 5.00 using chickhen. I did it with my cousins PSP not so long back.
