I was going to update to 4.3U after installing the latest HBC, but my Wii won't let me. I don't have disc or online updates blocked, and when I go to update from the Metroid: Other M disc it starts up, I click accept and then the progress bar moves like 1 space and then I get a message saying Wii Update Failed.

If I use the online update, it starts to download and then gives me either an Error 32004 or 32007. I tried to use Waninoko's 4.3b updater, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to run. I was thinking I might try ModMii to see if that works. Also, I don't know if this is related or not, but since I updated to the new HBC, I can't get FTPii to work properly. It loads and mounts everything, and I can start to connect, but while my FTP client is trying to grab the directory list, FTPii says the client has disconnected, and I have to shut down FTPii and restart it before I can even try to reconnect.

Not that it's super important, but can someone tell me why my system won't even let me do the update?

i had this issue too. I could never update my wii on 4.2 modded. Lucky me, i had a NAND backup of 3.3U, and I just updated to 4.3u from there. ALWAYS MAKE A CLEAN NAND DUMP!

I get this error too with 4.3u. I downgrade the system menu to try to make an official update again and it gives me error 32017. Is it some kind of IOS error, or just the server?

I think I found the solution: First I downgraded to 4.2 with DOP-Mii, then I erased all the IOSs (even the cIOS) except for IOS70. Then I restarted the console, and I could finally perform a clean update. And fortunately it didn't erase my HBC and BootMii.

It turns out that all my IOSs were patched by Pimp My Wii.

Edit: And yes, all the IOSs were reinstalled and unpatched.

I installed IOS56 and the new Shop Channel and noticed a new folder on the NAND called "wfs" with FSToolbox. I did some testing and it seems that it gets created after running the Shop Channel. Anyone know what is it used for?

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
